U21s : Manchester United vs Fulham

Yes, care to explain or are you content in being an irritating idiot? If you struggle being a grow up, best stay away from the internet. Now, would you like to converse as an adult or should I assume I shouldnt be talking to you without first gaining your parents permission?
It was you who started to talk about parents I think that is what you should do, talk to them they are surely next room. What a weird overreaction, that is what teens do these days apart they can't read?

I'll highlight the part that hurt my brain.

I'm yet to be convinced by Pereira if I'm going to be honest.

He's talented, but doesn't really stand out from any other player on the pitch.
Strange comment. He's probably been the under 21's best player this season

Frustrating game from United.

We won the possession, but lacked any form of cutting edge. :wenger:

Same story as the first team.

Same story?U21s don't have enough attacking players (Janko is a RB etc the rest apart from Fletcher and Powell are actually CMs or defenders).First team has been...eh...lack of proper use of their attacking players.

and subs?

I don't want to be harsh but I don't get why we play Weir, he doesn't look like he's cutting it at all, we should promote TFM instead.. or what is your opinion on him?

looking forward to seeing Fletcher start tonight..

Weir was very good two years ago in his last U18s season.TFM had like 7 games with the U18s.

Fulham won the U18' premier league 2 or 3 times in a row a couple of years ago and were beaten in the FA youth cup final by Chelsea last season. At youth level they have been as good as anyone. We have no right to walk all over them at youth level..from their U21 squad a few names should make it into the big time. Roberts and Dembele are slowly breaking into the first team in the championship right now and should have massive careers ahead of them. Didn't Fulham win some youth level European competition too some years ago?

Maybe in your eyes. He's another Petrucci or Mats Daehli level player in my opinion.

That notwithstanding, he has often stood out for the u21s this season, which, as I think you'll find if you give it another go, was the extent of my post.

1 assist and 1 goal from behind the striker. I dont think so.

I'd say Pereira was better tonight but Harrop has been better this season

Sorry but that doesn't mean anything much.Roberts and Dembele not playing tonight while we're playing 1 first teamer (Raf) and a few first team fringes. We have only ourselves to blame if you look at the match.

Isn't that always the case?

Frustrating game. Didn't make the first half domination count, then lost our shit when they scored against the run of play.

I thought Rafael was the best player on the pitch, by a margin. As he should be. Pereira didn't do his first team chances any favours but meh, obviously not gonna feature tomorrow regardless. Nobody from tonight's game will and tomorrow could well be the last game of the season when Van Gaal could risk one of the U-21s.

They could still make the bench but yeah I doubt it.

Do you actually watch the games? If you did then you'd know that hes only played behind the striker once all season. Even if he had been playing behind the striker you quoting stats doesnt really mean anything and for the record he actually has 2 goals and 3 assists. Harrop has done well this season but I'm not sure how you can call him our best player when he's missed half of the games and went off injured in a couple of the games he played.

They have a strong youth setup and have been good competition the last couple years but they were awful today. I think many of their top talents like Roberts, Dembele, Hyndman and Woodrow are with the first team. Aston Villa won the NextGen series a couple years back, can't remember Fulham winning anything but maybe.

They are good but not that special as an academy. They had a good crop last time.Their current U18s crop seems not really good.

Hate that about stats, people read them and assume hes crap according to the stats so he must be crap. Its obviously not as simple as that and in many respects they are a shit way to access younger players especially.

Plus the fact that he hasn't been playing behind the striker all season, bar a 20min spell last night.

Stats are like bikinis. What they reveal is suggestive, but they look shit on @Ekeke.

That's hardly how Van Gaal works, based on the evidence of the season so far. Pereira has been on the bench against some of our biggest opponents this season. Wilson, Blackett and McNair have all played in big games. He doesn't really seem to balance the risk of playing a youngster against the quality of the opponent, but rather against the degree to which his formation and game plan suggests their inclusion (Blackett repeatedly getting in because he's left-footed and suits 352, for example).

I expect Pereira will get plenty more time on the bench, and am pretty confident he'll get a run-out for the first-team at some point. If a gap opens up in the squad (for Pearson in Fletcher's spot, for example), I see no reason why it might not happen.
