U21s: Leicester City vs Manchester United

I've always wondered why he never bulked up. He's always had issues with physical strikers.

He didn't use to. He used to leather 'em so hard, they had a seizure.

I'd say so, Nigel Pearson has heavily favoured stronger work-horse type players over more technical ones like Lawrence. He had half the Championship looking to take him on loan and Pearson said no to them all and he has given him 14 minutes since. Hopefully with them getting relegated they should be one of the top teams in the Championship and Pearson wont be afraid to use that type of player.

This line is used quite often from fans of all clubs trying to justify why their loaned/sold player can't get in a lower team. Leicester play good football as it is, and are hardly a team of lump its. Maybe ability wise they're not good enough to stay up, but is Lawrence any better than what they have? Highlighted that line because in general conversations it comes across as a slight on the manager.

Damn, Wilson had a great chance but it was a good save from the keeper/poor finish from Wilson and it stays 1-1.

The game finishes 1-1. Could've easily won 2-1 or even 3-1 but for a wonder save in the dying moments of each half from their keeper.

Very boring game. I wonder how long Rafael is out for. We may have seen him wear that red shirt for the very last time. Sums up his career really

3 premier league titles, 2 champions league finals, a league cup and charity shield by 24. I'll take his career. Is a shame on the injuries though, by far the best right back at the club.

Agreed. Really is a shame.

It would be nice to see people get behind some of youth players instead of slagging them off before they have even kicked a ball.

Is that called 'support' these days?

Mind boggles.

not really, people really have short memories, and tend to lower their expectations as well. Valencia's solid player, Rafael on his day is different class..

Its 2015. Valencia is a better and much more reliable player than Rafael. Good luck to him wherever he ends up at

It's 2015 indeed but the minute Valencia gets injured your choice of players on that position is down to McNair, Jones and yes, Rafael.

Indeed. The youth forum is usually rather spared from hyperbolic, attention-seeking nonsense, not so tonight.

McNair or Jones will do just fine and they'll get the nod before Rafael (already happened twice with McNair and off course you remember the LVG ten year RB comments). It doesn't scream to you in your mind how out of favor Rafael is does it?

It screams to me that there's no transfer news suggesting what many says. ('Good as gone'.)

Give me one substantial news about his departure and I'm resting my case which in another word means I'm simply fecking off from the case.

IRC McNair played the game against Yoevil just because Rafael was injured or was the first team option at that time, it was the second game where he surprisingly started ahead of Rafael and showed how completely out of dept he is at that position.. He kind of deserved to start that though as he had really blinder against Yoevil, 4th league team. Nevertheless Van Gaal showed that if a player has such good performance he won't drop him and give him a chance but it wasn't as difficult to shine against the 4 league team at home at much bigger OT pitch.. he just got carried away with the player. I like his trust in him but as CB.

Rafael was then unlucky to pick injury and Valencia got in form and as solid as he is he only once or twice matched Rafael's high level of performances..
And it's 2015 and some people here are like they don't even remember what was a year ago. Sad

Rafael is slowly becoming the Anderson case - he doesn't play he must be shit! - He's been injured ffs..
I believe he can turn it around, he's 6 years younger than Valencia, do you even realize that? If this injury doesn't ruin his chances for staying this summer he will come good next season and bench Valencia .-)

I agree that there's a chance Rafael might stay. He's happy to stay here even if he would just be a back up to Valencia and there's no clear evidence that we will sign a new right back (we have been linked with Clyne but let's be honest we've been linked with him every year since his Crystal Palace day, the rumour is stronger these days due to his performance).
