I'm not even checking the schedule, I guarantee that MUTV coverage will start at 6:30 PM GMT tomorrow (or today depending on your time zone).

Let's win this one and go through to the top qualification group!

I'm gonna miss the first half of this one, I'd appreciate it as always if someone would note who assists any United goal!

Enjoy, this should be a good one!

A massive game if we have qualify for the elite group. If I am correct, Petrucci is back and that would be a welcome boost the team. Without him the midfield has looked short of quality.

I hope we go on and win this game. Villa won the game at Moss Lane and it would nice to return them the favor and finish as a top 3 team.

Must-win game for Under-21s

Alexander Büttner is set for a run-out at Under-21 level as United look for a victory at Aston Villa that should ensure qualification for the elite phase of the competition.

Anything less than three points in the final group game will be insufficient but the Dutch left-back's inclusion as an over-aged player should provide some additional experience while Scott Wootton and Nick Powell also feature after starting in the last Champions League tie against CFR Cluj.

Italians Davide Petrucci and top scorer Federico Macheda are likely to be key figures as the Reds bid to avenge a 1-0 home reverse to the Villans.

The match is exclusively live on MUTV with kick-off at 7pm.

Squad: Jonny Sutherland, Pierluigi Gollini; Marnick Vermijl, Tom Thorpe, Scott Wootton, Michele Fornasier, Alexander Buttner, Sean McGinty, Frederic Veseli; Larnell Cole, Ryan Tunnicliffe, Davide Petrucci, Nick Powell; Federico Macheda, Bebe, Tom Lawrence.

Buttman is starting. YAY!!!

Good to see Petrucci and Powell in the squad. Glad to see we are going for the win and make it to the elite stage.

A bit surprised that Johnstone in not in the squad.

Team;

------------Sutherland------------
Vermijl----Thorpe-Wooton----Buttner
--------Tunnicliffe-Petrucci---------
Bebe---------Cole-----------Powell
------------Macheda--------------

Lindegaard must actually be injured so no point risking Johnstone.

Not a lot happening for us yet. Best chances have fallen to Villa.

Our head to head with Sunderland is two draws, they have a +4 goal difference, while we have +2. So if we lose this game I believe that means Sunderland will go through instead of us.

Here is the updated table:

Has Tunners ever taken a free kick at any level for United?

Has Tunners ever taken a free kick at any level for United?

Lou thinks that he is the new Siniša Mihajlović, evidently. Our most dangerous player in that half wasn't even on our team! Fairly dire half of football all in.

We've done alright in what on paper is one of the most difficult games of the season, but we need that goal in the second half. Tunnicliffe, Petrucci and Vermijl have done well.

If we draw then we move back into 3rd place, but Southampton can go ahead of us in their last game with a win at home to Newcastle. The barcodes will be playing to win, though, in order to jump ahead of Soton and into Group 1.

So a draw isn't the end of the world.

Please give us a better second half.

It will open up in the second half. I think that we were the slightly better side in a low quality first half. I agree with Lou, in that Powell is was wasted out there on the left.

I just cant understand the way the reserves are being told to play when in possession this season. We have four midfielders tonight with good close control and excellent short-passing ability in Powell, Cole, Petrucci and Tunnicliffe yet there seems to little focus on utilizing this against Villa's pressing. Surely they should try use this and be patient in possession to try and tire them out. Everytime anyone picks it up the rest of the midfield hides and the man on the ball has either two options; a) pass back to defender or keeper to hoof it up pitch, or b) long hopeful ball upfield or to the wings which wont ever stick because Bebe and Macheda are both fecking useless. There seems to know focus whatsoever on short passing or using the ball intelligently.

Sorry for the rant, I know its only the reserves but this year has been so frustrating compared to the very promising last 2 seasons in which we have played some fantastic football.

Villa keeping the ball well, dribble right into the box, where the ball deflects around a few times before Villa is flagged offside.

We give possession right back by kicking it out.

Powell with a nice long ball off Tunners head to Macheda who wins a deep throw. The eventual ball in is cleared and Villa eventually win it.
