U18's vs Newcastle(A)

Credit to Newcastle for putting up a fight. We haven't gotten out of 1st gear at all in this second half.

That's a very good save by Gollini.

Wilson with his 5th, 6-1. Trying his best to wrestle that MotM award from Daelhi. Just looks a bit bored after scoring.

Fifth goal from Wilson. Wow. 1-6.

1-7. Gorre scores. Pereira with another assist. Weir did well again.

7-1, the sub Gorre with the goal. A few of these goals have come with high pressing up the field, nice to see the player continue to put effort into a game they've already won.

Interesting that we do that at youth level and not at first team level.

FT. United wins it 7-1.

My MOTM - Wilson just edges it for me. Daelhi a close second.

not at all. he also tipped over a decent header but it really wasn't that kinda game. He did flap at a corner also, wasn't happy with himself..but wouldn't you be surprised if people had of been talking about out goalkeeper on a day we scored 7? Newcastle created maybe 3/4 chances and he did ok

Worth mentioning that Gollini made an outstanding 1-v-1 save at 1-0 which pretty much everyone seems to have forgotten.

Yeah. Shades of Big Pete. Flapped at numerous crosses though but given his size he's got the potential to be a very commanding keeper.

Pereira was better today than last time out, there's clearly much more to come.

Wilson's goals were fantastic. notice his runs and how he created space for himself.

just to play a little devils advocate, a fair few of the Newcastle side were U16. Armstrong, for example, just called up for the England U16s.

Was a young Newcastle team. Had lost 3 of it's 4 games already I think it said on mutv. Our passing and energy though in the first half was of a high standard though.

Anyone seen Golini more?

Looks brilliant from a few highlights I have seen.

True, a bit like our team last season. To be honest though they were physically similar to us, it was technically that we were far superior. Also, two of our best players were 16 year-olds in Periera and Wilson and the rest were no older than 17. We were also missing four key players in Ioannou, Barmby, Januzaj and Rothwell.

He flapped at a couple of crosses but overall he has been excellent. He made a couple of great saves on saturday at 1-0 and another later on. He is quickly off his line and has a physical presence in the goal. His distribution is improving also. All in all he looks a good prospect.

I haven't seen much of Wilson, but he looked brilliant. He made good runs, showed fantastic pace, and when he got a sight of goal, finished with composure and accuracy.

There's a lot of talent in that side.

That Armstrong is meant to be really good, my pal is an agent and was raving about him to me a few weeks ago.

Even the commentators on MUTV said Newcastle were struggling because they had a lot of good players from last years team who now are overage...same problem we had last year
