Clash of the titans.

Can someone please enlighten me what is the minimum requirement for advancing to the "Elite" stage in both the U-21 and the U-18 leagues?

Would appreciate it. Thanks.

The qualification in the U21 league is as follows:

The top three sides in Groups 2 will go forward to the Elite Group Stage.

The fourth and fifth-placed teams will go forward to Qualification Group Tier One Stage.

The best sixth-place team from Groups 1, 2, and 3 will go forward to Qualification Group Tier One Stage.

The two other sixth-place teams, seventh and eighth-place teams will go forward to Qualification Group Tier Two Stage.

I don't know about the U18s though. Maybe it's here:

We've confirmed our progress into the Elite stage btw. Great by the boys.

This game is behind closed doors now due to the weather

Love watching the U18s to be fair. Probably the only United team who are any good to watch at the moment anyway, the U21s are pretty boring and often consists of a team with 7 defenders in it. Of course, the U41s haven't really been that entertaining either.

The academy have an abundance of talent left right centre. Pereira, Janjuaz, Barmby, Pearson, Wilson, Daehli and I'm probably missing some notable names as well.

Not sure how many of them will make it, but if at least one doesn't ill be very surprised but out of all those names any one of them can make it.

Then you have the batch of u16s waiting to come through, so excited for the future.

The U21's has been quite entertaining this season, especially when the likes of King were in their full form.

Looking at the fixtures and results list for the U21s the difference in drastic between the poor form of these last 5 league games and the rest of the season.

Not counting the preseason (or the closed door games with no official match reports) we started with 5 straight wins, in the first 9 games we had 7 wins with 2 draws.

Since then we've only won once in 5, with 2 draws and 2 losses.

I believe the downturn in form coincided with a group of loans and several players like Macheda, Wootton and Keane being kept out for possible first team action. So it's fairly understandable, with much of the team missing.

Yep. Lingard and Brady too. Petrucci also was injured.

What's going on with this? I can't find a stream, is it being televised?

Actually scrap that, found a river.

It's been moved to a normal pitch due to improved weather.

Hmm, haven't really enjoyed the reserves since the Pogba/Morrison days. The U-18s is where the flair is at. Our midfield/attack often has the likes of Tunnicliffe, Macheda, Thorpe, Bebe, Vermijl playing on the wing and Larnell Cole in poor form too. Team is always disjointed I reckon, as you wouldexpect with reserves as it is often used for different reasons like giving returning players a game, or playing those who are kind of stuck in no man's land - no where near the first team or loan, and too old for the academy.

What's the line up and subs? I'm at work so can't watch :( If it's on mutv then I have it on record so hopefully will watch it later if it's a decent match.

2-1 right now.

Some horrible defending.

Wilson and Daehli the scorers for us.

2-1, United have dominated possession so far but just conceded less than a minute after scoring their second. Wilson scored United's first and Daelhi got the second.

Sutherland, Grimshaw, Dalley, Ioannou, Evans, Weir, Pearson, Rudge, Daehli, Januzaj, Wilson

Not sure of the subs.

Great to hear Ioannou is back in the side.

What a pass for the goal. Brilliant. United 3-1 up.

Christ what an assist from Januzaj! Good finish from Daehli too, very composed.

3-1, Daelhi. Carbon copy of second. Januzaj with a beautiful ball through to Daelhi who finished well.

Just came back and missed the first half. Who've been our best players?

Cheers, from the sounds of it we're playing quite well. I really hope I've got it on record will definitely be worth a watch later.

Januzaj not having a particularly good game by his standards in general play and still has 3 assists and should have had a 4th when wilson hit the post from his cross

Januzaj is really looking a class above at this level at times I think, to be honest. Not his best overall game, but divine moments. Last game was class and that pass...nice.

I'm a bit worried though about him becoming too much of a mainstay in that reserve team, but at the same time think he could be someone we should keep close instead of sending him on loan at the moment.

Lol not playing well but still with 3 assists? God help the rest of them when he is playing well. Oh how I wish he ends up making the step up to the first team, it will be a whole.different kettle of fish but he's so classy on the ball, I love the way he glides with it making it look oh so simple.

Rothwell is back on the bench too. Appears we have all our best players fit now. Can't wait for the Cup now.

I know it sounds strange to say when someone should have 4 assists in a half but he actually has probably only had 4 good moments which I suppose just shows how good he actually is. Hes on a different level and seems like he can influence the game whenever he sees fit to
