U18s: United vs Preston

Chido has been cooking so far, best performance in a United shirt. Exceptional all-round play.

Kamason gets better every time I see him

The proverbial game of 2 halves, we have been shocking in the second half , I don’t think their keeper has touched the ball this half

Preston have been right aggy tonight

First helft was good but really poor in the second half, none of them are even close to be ready for the first team.

United thought they had it in the bag, relaxed and just unable to recover their mojo. Preston, to their credit, have upped their energy levels

They’ve got some really decent players for a Championship outfit to be fair

Great result tonight for the boys. Great shame that Lacey has missed so much football the past 2 seasons, it's looking very likely that he's going to miss the boat. It would be great if he does come back but a young player missing so much football in his development years usually spells curtains.

He is still only 17 so he's still got time on his side yet, it's when the injuries start piling up at 19/20, like with Gore, I start getting concerned.

Overall a nice comfortable win.

A combination of complacency setting into the team and Preston fired up made the second half a more interesting event.

In the second half they were wearing black armbands. I think they were told about Denis Law at half time that must have affected their performance in the second half.

As sad news as it was about the ill 84 year old, it was probably more just the usual scenario of a team being 4-0 up and coasting at home to a lower league team and failing to raise their game after the break. Unusual for this group though the last couple of years, as Adam Lawrence has got them being pretty ruthless in pushing for ever more goals.

Yeah, they haven't played in a while and a good few players were cramping so I'd say fitness played a small part. Silly mistakes in passing and like with the goal Armer gave away crept in and they stopped winning midfield duels.
