Will be interesting to see who’s involved as Lacey, Amass, Wheatley, Harrison, Scanlon, Williams etc. played for the U21s in Scotland today.

So probably a very youthful side, even more so than usually. Hope to see Mantato as a LB.

Ogunneye was on the bench so can still play on this? Otherwise:
Myles
Kamason - Munro - Kingdon - McAllister
Moorhouse / Fletcher - Fritzegald - Curley
Missin - Musa - Biancheri

Not that much younger, we have great depth at this level.

McAllister would be wasted at LB. Mantato can slot in there more naturally. Also McAllister should go back to getting minutes at his natural position in CDM, for his own personal development.

McAllister isn’t a waste anywhere, he offers so much wherever he’s played, he’s like a young Kimmich.

It is that kind of mentality that messed up TFM's development. He should be given more minutes in his best position which is CDM rather than playing inferior players there and shunting him to full back because he can do a job there. I can even accept an occasional stint at RB but playing him as a right footed LB is a waste. We have left footed LBs in the squad so why not use them there rather than shunting a right footed CDM there.

Another player whose development is being wrecked is Nolan who is being played as a right footed LB. He would be limited in senior football in that role and the minutes that should have been spent playing him in a position where he has a real chance have been wasted.

Will be interesting to see this match - especially since Nottingham appear to have a fairly weak side this season. True - their results so far haven't been awful on paper.

A narrow defeat at Newcastle, the same against Liverpool after Forest were reduced to 10 men, a draw against Boro and a fairly convincing win against Norwich in the Premier Cup.

But behind these results - the stats indicate that Forest have been lucky not to have been battered in almost every game.

In the 4-1 win against Norwich at home, the Canaries were reduced to 10 men with 30 minutes left to play - and had 13 shots against Forests 5. So Forest scored 4 goals in 5 shots, Norwich 1 in 13.

The 4-2 defeat against Liverpool could have been much worse. Liverpool had 25 shots and 65% possession.

And the point got in the 1-1 draw away to Boro must be considered a miracle - Boro had 28 shots in that game - Forest had 3.

On average in their first 4 matches - their opponents have had 20 shots a game against Forest.....this is not a team that is defensively solid. And we have averaged the same amount of shots against our opponents in our first 3 matches - this should on paper be a fun match to watch.

Really excited to see Kukonki. First involvement in the U18s for Jim Thwaites, if my memory serves me right.

With a first name like that, he is destined to do well

Says a lot about the depth and improving injury situation when we can field that decent a side even with so many of our ”best” players being with the U21s.

Would be nice to see the Fletchers play though. :(

We’re usually very good on the wings, but so far we’ve been trying to force it through traffic in the middle.

in 3 minutes we managed:
a) to have a player sent off for 2 yellow
b) give the ball away just outside our own area
c) give away a penalty

Curley our best player, getting on the ball making some passes and had a good shot

Kukonki has made a couple of good slidetackles and also mistimed another one giving away a freekick. Looks good enough for this level

For a striker Musa is very poor at holding the ball up. Perhaps he is better on the wing but he’s been consistently bullied and dispossessed basically every time I’ve seen him play. Huge contrast to Wheatley or Biancheri. Or even Norkett.

Yeah and it’s good to remember that he’s only 15.

Have the commentators at MUTV ever said something good about a referee? I think it's a little odd that they mock them as much as they do, with mental health as a hot topic, especially at United. Nothing wrong with the refs performance today IMO.

The ref ignoring some flying tackles in the first half and then booking Fitzgerald for that. No consistency.

Also good to remember that these refs get paid very, very little. And people wonder why it’s difficult to find good refs to the pro level.

The Fitzgerald one then was definitely not a yellow. Ludicrous decision.

He does it on purpose and is very late, even though it's not that much of a 'foul'. But yeah, it's debatable but not really that much so you can mock the ref?

And then we ask, why does no one want to be a referee?

United play a short corner backwards, McAllister clips it towards the far post and Kingdon slides it in.
