U18s: Tottenham vs United

It feels like this is about Musa's 3rd or 4th season with the U18's. Surprised to see he's only just turned 18.

There was a spell where he scored a good amount of goals - despite not doing much else in games. But he's been quiet for a while now and I've lost track of him - has he been injured?

Good goal by Spurs. We are not getting our passing right at the moment. Baumann seemed to stumble there giving the Spurs striker that bit of room

Musa hasn't really had a spell where he scored a good amount of goals. I think he has scored something like 13-14 goals in 35-40 games at U18 level.

Obviously they learn form the first team - centre back bursting forward and a simple early goal

They're a really good side Spurs, proper test this will be. Depth we have on the bench will be key.

I've never rated him and he's never looked like he'll make it here. But there was a brief spell where he suddenly chipped in with some goals as the main #9 because we hadn't got others available - just had a quick look and it was probably second half of 22/23 season, when he got 6 in 5 games.

Anyway, this game starting poorly. 2-0 down now. :(

Our right side defensively is a disaster. The strange thing is - they haven't really been a lot better than us - but they know how to defend

We’re so sloppy in the build-up and our defending is all over the place. Good reminder to this team.

Should have played Kukonki at CB, Munro not having a good game at all.

Easy to say in hindsight. Kukonki has been far from impressive this season. And Munro naturally needs game time after his injury.

Plunkett, Munro, and Armer seem ball watching and lost position all the time. It's like senior games recently where Spur players can run past us for fun and always faster 1 step.

Refs fecking hilarious. No foul for a tackle from behind leaving the player on the floor, but one for a light nudge, and not for clipping a player's legs.

Almost another Spurs goal directly following a United mistake, Kukonki this time.

Referee again.. her linesman is there flagging for the foul and she, with a worse view, doesn't give it.

Might as well be refereed by flip of a coin or dice

We are playing okish but the defence is awful today

A bit like the first team today, couldn't handle the physicality and strong running in the beginning, lots of stray passes at the back too but settled down and dominated possession after the first 2. No cutting edge still, might need Lacey or Amir to come on for the spark.

Mantato is a player that puzzles me - he has so much skill, and is so highly rated - but he offers so little in the box. He really needs to work on his end-product .. badly.

Based on today, I agree. Then again he’s 16 so there’s plenty of time. But in general his end product has been fine.

As a winger in the U18 PL:

8 matches
457 minutes
8 goals
2 assists

A goal every 57 minutes and a goal involvement every 46 minutes.

Musa and Ibragimov come on for Munro and Plunkett. Fitzgerald RB, Mantato LB, Kukonki CB.
