U18s - Manchester United vs Wolves

He has featured for England but he isn't the standout star player or anything. His age group are of lesser quality than the age groups around it too.
Thats suprising, thought he'd be really highly regarded from what iv seen. The current england 17's look fantastic, the 3 of sancho, gomes and foden behind the striker are a joy to watch. Hopfully all develop well.

Yeah id thought so too,i know he gets in the england squads and all that but didnt know if he was regarded as THE talent for his age group. Iv read a bit about a lad city took off us called james mcatee for example,he's only 3 month younger than greenwood and from what iv read,he's a special talent. How does Greenwood compare to him?

It seems like england have really got some talent coming through the younger age groups,we might be a good team in ten year.

McAtee is 1 year younger not 3 months.Different players. McAtee is an offensive midfielder, Greenwood is more of a forward.

Ah ok,read on one of the scout sites that greenwood was born oct 1st 2001 and mcatee jan 1st 2002...Never mind. How do you rate greenwood compared to the other talents in his age group?

Is this mcatee lad looking as good as the articles about him claim?

McAtee is a late 2002, that website probably only know he's 2002 born so put a random birthday. There're some talented attacking players in Greenwood's age group at England (seems to be the standard these days) but that is a weird age group when the coaches have called up 50+ different players so far so really can't based anything on those decisions. Based on his form recently he deserves a call up at least for their U17s Euro campaign. Same with Laird and maybe Garner. Greenwood has a disadvantage of being born late in the year.

McAtee is a very technical little player but I haven't seen him much since he moved to Man City tbh (yeah I know he was only 11 back then) so can't comment about it. Very highly regard at City though and rightly so.

Just as I said Greenwood, Garner and Laird are all called up by England for the upcoming tournament.
