U18s: Manchester United vs. Wolves

I know Williams is supposed to be the quickest footballer around - but to me Reid looks every bit as quick

FT: 3-0 (Rashford,Gribbin,Kenyon).Players seem to get tired as the second half went by with many of them played 3 games in 7 days.

Williams ran the 100 meter in 10,99 seconds, thus breaking the school record set by Darren Campbell in 1989. But he does need 10-15 meters to really hit top speed. Although he accelerates pretty quickly, it looks to me like Reid, Tuanzebe and Rashford are all quicker than him on the first 5-10 meters.

On another note, I was very impressed by United today. Despite a few injuries, they were all over Wolves for the first 60-65 minutes. I woudn't be surprised if we see Rashford, Gribbin, Reid, Dearnly and Williams all get minutes at the U-21s during the season.

Wolves were poor, but that's always what it looks like when a team dominate.

1 goal off from a set piece. 2 chances from corners (more set pieces), hit the woodwork from a set piece. Sweet feck all from open play but the worst bit is the aimless use of possession in our own half. Sweet feck all forward play. Its awful. No wonder City are doing so well at this level, they dont play back and sideways every chance they get.
Have you watched much of City at this level or is your opinion based purely on the fact that they're top of the table and you've read some articles talking about how fantastic and shiny their new academy is? If you only saw 2 chances created in the first half both from set pieces then you might want to watch a bit closer next time considering United went close twice from crosses in the first 5 minutes. Maybe you'd be better off leaving your nonsensical observations for the main forum where it can blend in among the rest of the repetitive dross and leave the reserves/youth forum for people who actually have an interest in watching the youth develop rather than just looking for excuses to complain.

Positive point is; We've got some real pace in that set up. More than I've seen for a number of years...if ever

So this was basically Stack Goes Into Meltdown?

That comment about City was particularly nonsensical. They're currently one of the most possession-centric PL youth sides I've seen for years and years. Probably since the Arsenal sides way back ('before Wilshere', in my head) that basically kept the ball for the entire game.

If anyone gets highlights for this, they'd be appreciated. Only caught the last half hour.

Check this if you have time to watch (only the first half)
