FT: Wolves 2-1 City
That should pretty much wrap up the title.
Thwaites scored a brace for the U16s on their 5-1 win as well.
He looks good everytime I've seen him.Thwaites scored a brace for the U16s on their 5-1 win as well.
It is, they played the kids for 2 games and acted like they were the new Class of 92 while we’ve had 2 teenagers start for us all season.Funny comments on RAWK asking why United don't give more opportunities to academy players
Not watching currently but I have said this a couple of times this season. Him and Missin have been the most improved players this season for me.
I've liked Wheatley since I first saw him this season, glad to see he's continuing to improve.
I blame Neville for spouting that "Klopp's kids" bullshit. It is, they played the kids for 2 games and acted like they were the new Class of 92 while we’ve had 2 teenagers start for us all season.
Same
You could see early on that he could lead the line very well for this team with his hard work and link-up play.
He has some good attributes to be a decent CF imo. Still there's lots of room for improvement here's hoping he continues to develop.
Glad he got his goals today. Took them very well.
The whole team played really well. What a result!
Yeah he’s a dick head for that, the majority of them will be at Norwich in 2 years. Scousers are really stupid though so I’m not surprised they fell for the rhetoric, they’re basically like Trump supporters.I blame Neville for spouting that "Klopp's kids" bullshit.
Things ticking along very nicely now under Cox and It seems like we are going to be even more competitive in the domestic youth market under INEOS. Hopefully we can start winning the youth cup a bit more often. Then those players will be worth a lot more money and the standard of player making his way into our squad is literally the best in the country. I can’t wait to see the highlights of this
A nice thread.
"The visitors"" Haven’t seen under 18s getting raped like this since Jimmy saville"
Ouch...
@Mr. MUJAC is this our biggest U18 win against Liverpool? What is our biggest win in the last say 20 years?
@lysglimt @Mr. MUJAC ….
I know Amass (not playing today) has been touted for the top but do any of this group look like they could be first team squad any time soon (aka step up ahead of their years like a Mainoo)?
Spoilers for Tomorrow. Liverpool are gonna kill us
Quite a few of them in my opinion - but realistically most of them of course wont.
Harrison has something special about him - with the ball at his feet, he is probably up there with the best in the P.L. But of course as a goalkeeper you are unlikely to get chances playing for a club like United.
Amass as you mentioned - look special. I would also say that Kamason could go far. He is a modern full-back with pace and good skills.
Midfield - Jack Fletcher look very good - I would like for him to have a bit more pace - but apart from that he has a lot in his locker. Baumann, McAllister and Devaney all look good - but in terms of potential I rate tham all behind Fletcher.
Scanlon looks like a really good attacking midfielder, really smart player who makes good runs. Lacey in terms of skills on the ball is perhaps the most talented of them all - but he is a bit slow and lightweight. If he played for Guardiola - he would be perfect. Mantato looks like a really special player, and Williams also has a decent chance because of his pace, skills and ability to put the ball in the back of the net.
I have many times questioned Wheatley in front of goal - but now he is starting to score a lot of goals from open play, and he is both strong, fast and with a powerful shot.
I would be surprised if 2-3 of these players aren't around the first-team by the start of 25/26. And I would rate Fletcher, Amass, Wheatley, Mantato and Lacey as the most likely - in no particular order.

They have a couple of very decent players around the first team like Jones and Bradley but they're in their 20s now - they were the stars of an older youth team, and the standard appears to have dropped since. Whereas United are seemingly experiencing a new golden generation (if they're coached properly).Yeah he’s a dick head for that, the majority of them will be at Norwich in 2 years. Scousers are really stupid though so I’m not surprised they fell for the rhetoric, they’re basically like Trump supporters.

Given the Ajax way and Ten Hag working with youth (he gave 23 academy players their debut and I think de Ligt and de Jong were 19 for that Spurs semi… though obviously exceptional), I bet he’d like to get through another year or two to see if they start coming through
Didn't know Jones was part of the U18 coaching setup now. He's always been said to have a good football brain even though his body very much let him down in the latter years of his career, so he could probably go far as a coach. One defeat for the U18s since Phil jones became a coach? Needs to be promoted up to the senior team perhaps...
