Live on MUTV from 10:45!

Proper football starting tomorrow:drool: Hope to see both Gomes and Chong starting....

I hope to see a response after last week's trashing.

Exactly, last week looked like the exact same performance you'd expect of them last season. Hopefully they can gel soon and can push for the title this year as they really should be.

Missing most of the defence in mitigation. Think we'll need a few months for the team to gel.

True I wasn't sure if they'd be back in time for tomorrow but you know, score more than they do and all that :smirk:

A shame i'll miss the match.

A win against the scousers is always important, hopefully also some players are coming back (Diedrick-Roberts, Ercolani, O'Connor & Barrett) and the players are playing in their best positions too.

We generally don't have good results against Liverpool at U18s level but hopefully will see the new lads.

Should've got a result against them away last season. But they've recruited heavily this season, so should be a good game. Any idea which defenders are back?

XI: Moutha-Sebtaoui - Tanner,Warren,M.Dunne,Hamilton - Sang,Whelan - Dearnley,Gomes,Chong - Buffonge
Subs: Burkhart,M.Johnstone,Boonen,Kenyon,Bohui

Burkhart and Sam Johnstone's brother Max on the bench (on trial?).Max Dunne came back to ease the defensive crisis.O'Connor isn't in the squad.

Nor Barlow, Ercolani or Barrett.

Chong should probably have placed that rather than going for power.

Good start by United. Getting in down their left at will.

Those highlights before the game of our game against Derby was grim. How that ref missed the pen I'll never know.

Rivers would be nice?

Good save by Liverpool GK to deny Chong.

HT: United 0-2 Liverpool.Need a goal to kick things on.Probably Burkhart will come on.

No matter what level, conceding 6 goals from less than 180 minutes played is not a good indication.

We have to tighten up defensively.

Dont care about the result but we look really poor in both defending and attacking.....i know we have some injured defenders but i hope we have injured both midfielders and strikers because the only real quality we have on the pitch is in that AM line with Gomes, Boonen and Chang.

Btw Chang looks good so far, pretty good on the ball and works very hard of it....and of course his hair is spectacular:drool:

I'm sorry, I know there's injuries and what not, but that's a terrible display, especially the first 35mins. What was the point of sacking McGuiness? Wasn't it to improve? There's no obvious pattern of play, no organisation in defence or attack, we lump the ball forward and it gets gobbled up cos there's no focal point. Their midfield has way too much time and no one was closing down. Their goals are a reflection of that, too much time and space. They're the more organised side and deserve to be ahead. I don't know if those players know they're playing Liverpool. Something needs to change in this today and in this team going forward to prevent their heads dropping and it being a repeat of last season, which is a waste, their development could also suffer.

That was exactly how they suffered last season, not the "lack of talent" like some people believe.

Mate, it's inevitable if it carries on like this. The injuries don't help either, but that was a terrible display tactically. I was cautious of Martin before, but now I'm starting to believe he isn't good enough. There was no need for McGuiness to get sacked if we aren't going to improve, with his replacement. Just hope this isn't another wasted season in development for these boys.

The injuries actually were more of an excuse. We had Rashford,Tuanzebe,Williams and TFM all played vs Liverpool last season at this level and still lost 4-0.

Anyway the performances tend to pick it up after Christmas.

Yeah im also not impressed, based from that hour long highlights of the recent cup in Holland we didnt look much better there even though the result was very good. But its pretty hard to build a team with so little quality in key areas...i mean how can you look good with a midfield of Sang and Whelan, even Messi would struggle.
@khoazany can you name all the injured players please, do we have any midfielders in it?

Gribbin and Barlow are the injured midfielders.

Hopefully it doesn't happen this year, but wouldn't be surprised. At least Butt is watching, hopefully that search for a new coach is hastened and any doubts are erased from his mind.

I thought Gribbin was moved to U23 so thats the reason he isnt playing but he is another AM....not sure if i ever watched Barlow, if i did cant remember him, is he any good?
But a serious lack of quality in midfield area, against lesser teams the AMs can carry the team but against top opposition we will struggle IMO.
