Stop, please, you're embarrassing yourself. Can we ban the word 'embarrassing' in this thread?
Oh good they should be easy to find then. I'll be right here.
if money always talked then van persie would have gone to city. simples. she is not in spain. she lives in london. just because yaya uses does not mean the same rule applies for every other player out there.
I think you are one of those people who just want to believe there can be only one right person and its them. Shame, i had thought all point of views are acceptable. Still anything that makes you happy.
A month before he left United for Madrid, with rumours rife that he was leaving, he said: ‘I’ve never said that I’d never move away from Manchester, and I’ve never said that I’d end my career there.’
A few years later, Beckham reflected on his relationship with Ferguson: ‘I’ve known Ferguson since I was 12 years old and we had one or two problems in that time,’ he said in October 2006. ‘Maybe he didn’t want me to leave.’
In an interview with Sports Illustrated in 2011, Terry Byrne, Beckham’s mate and former manager, gave a greater insight to what happened behind the scenes.
Byrne said that in 2002 Beckham gave him a call.
‘David called me and said, ‘Look, I’m going to split with SFX [his management group]. Would you consider you and your wife moving? I’m going to go to Real Madrid next summer and leave Manchester United.’
Think you quoted wrong person! If you didn't get your knickers in such a twist about transfers I doubt you'd feel embarrassed.
All these journos love this void the United support find themselves in. Not one of them cnuts will say if they have requested an interview tih Woodward or not because they know that uncertainty is more profitable for them

Nether of them prove anything. Musing Ferguson may have found it difficult letting Beckham leave isn't a surprise. He's spoken many times how difficult he finds it letting players go. He said it about Phil Neville. If the deal was in place the year before then so be it, it doesn't change anything.
Sir alex ferguson biography 2013:
"He was around 12 feet from me," wrote Ferguson. "David swore. I moved towards him and, as I approached, I kicked a boot. It hit him right above the eye.
"Of course, he rose to have a go at me and the players stopped him. 'Sit down,' I said. 'You've let your team down. You can argue as much as you like.'
"I called him in the next day to go through the video and he still would not accept his mistake.
"The next day the story was in the press. It was in those days that I told the board David had to go."
After helping Real Madrid win La Liga, Beckham moved to the United States in 2007, guiding LA Galaxy to victory in the MLS Cup.
But yeah we will believe quotes by a mate on a show and some un sourced quotes for sure. Ferguson made him go mate. You really want to debate this dont you?
Have you really read it?In Fergie's book he claims this is after he knew Beckham wanted to go to Madrid.
you're just listing examples. there are counterexamples too. i could list them but it doesnt mean anything. how do you know RVP earns that much? Why is falcao at Monaco?
Jamez rodriguez?
Thiago silva the best defender in the world who left MILAN for psg?
aguero at city?
Silva at city?
Robinho at city?
Players rushing to malaga when they were rich?
Retired players going to MLS?
Players playing for q.p.r. in the championship who could get clubs in prem.
Samir nasri, bacary sagna,adebayor?
I could go on..
As for Robin van persie, he earns 250000 pounds per week thats more than what people on this earth make in a life time. city Could have offered him more but maybe they did not need him. Juve were the opponents and we thrashed them away with money too.
There may be 5 % cases where money doesnt matter, all places else it does.
Sounds like it was mutual to be fair... Though, Ferguson himself admits he wanted Beckham gone and Beckham to this day will not concede he wanted to leave United, so if I was picking one version of events to believe, it'd be Fergie pushed him out the door.In Fergie's book he claims this is after he knew Beckham wanted to go to Madrid.
feck off to the Beckham thread
I would like it if you could list them?you're just listing examples. there are counterexamples too. i could list them but it doesnt mean anything. how do you know RVP earns that much?
the main takeaway should be each player has their own motivations and ambitions. for some the family factor matters more, for others less. trying to put everyone in one basket in terms of always wanting more money just doesnt fly. otherwise players wouldn be willing to take a pay cut to move to a different club. it may not be as often but still, the point is money doesnt always talk. it's a big factor but not the only one. so dont be surprised the next time you see a thiago-like transfer happen.
He's available, it doesn't mean he is realistic. I don't see a reason why he would sign for us really, and he has to agree for a move, right?Hang on, it's not 2013, why is Fabregas unrealistic now?
He's basically being offered around!
David Beckham didn't want to stay at United. He wanted out and he made damn sure he got his move so team Beckham could get more exposure

Tancredi again, Well this keeps the muppet juices flowing though
why? examples are inductive reasoning. they dont really prove anything. when you make a conclusion from them, it becomes deductive reasoning. this is why people say "stats are stats". what difference does it make to you if i list 5 or 20? it doesnt make what i'm trying to say more or less valid. all i'm saying is money plays a factor but for each individual transfer, the extent to which it plays may be different. a club not in CL may offer more money to a player while another club in CL offers less. If the player decides playing in CL is more important to him than earning more money with a club who is not in CL, then odds are he will join the club who is in CL. there are a lot of different scenarios you can come up with.I would like it if you could list them?

How else would you describe Tommy Smythe's sh!T?
he was so adamant we were getting Ronaldo last summer. Then just disappeared and shut up.
Now he thinks we're going to get peak age Spanish number 1 left back Alba from Barcelona?
We will NOT be signing any regular starter from Barce, Real or Bayern this summer. I find it hard to understand anyone really thinking we would.
I find people who make any definitive statements one way or another about transfers equally embarrassing.
Why was just about every player they ever had at Barca? Bayern? United? Milan in the past? Inter in the past? Juve? Etc. Etc.
In the vast mojority of cases it was/is because they wanted to play there. Messi could probably double his wages tomorrow if he went PSG but he doesn't. Why?
Your only examples are teams that were mid level clubs previously and HAD to buy their way to the top. We shouldn't have to, just like most other top clubs don't. Yes they pay good money, but it's not the deciding factor for these players.
You have to be realistic. We can attract top players, but not the real top notch ones from those 3 giants.
for the examples that you picked...does assou ekotto's words stand for the rest of the footballers out there?Mate my first line to you was "gone are the days". I know the past too, giggs could have earned more else where, so could have many other players. Real madrid With their deals for figo and zidane started all of the money bollocks and later on as football became popular in oil rich countries they sucked the loyality and feeling of being associated with a great club lost its importance.
Messi could yes, But i told you there may be 5% players, also if messi is such an angel why throw fits at not being the best paid? why single handedly remove ibra and villa from the team. Appointment of tata was his doing and so was " i want to play in the center".
My example wants to show you that players have so many money options that they would rather play for money. Why do young players like van ginkel/rodwell etc join city and chelsea? they could stay at their clubs and develope to be great but they rather make the quick money. Look what neymar went for and he even asked for free trips for his relatives from brazil to barca included in his contract. Ask assou ekotto and he says he doesnt like playing football much, but he gets money so he does it.Samuel eto went to quatar?(i dont know may be some where else) at 30! did he have no others club to play for? Money believe it or not is the number one factor, everything else will come later.
