Seems like La Tercera aren’t the only ones with the whole Vidal for $55m. El Grafico printed something on it too:

£32m would be a bit mental, hardly the 'insane offer' people are talking about.

El Grafico in Chile are apparently the leading sports newspaper there. Their website is “the biggest sports platform in Chile”.

Vidal is 27 now - so maybe 3-4 years of top level football left in him ? A lower price than many expect may actually be true. If he was 22, it would obviously be much higher.

Agreed, he's 27 and £32 million would be a good fee for him

The position he plays in, I think he could last a lot longer than 3-4 years at the top.

There are other factors. Vidal is probably a bit overrated as the "best CM in the world". He's certainly one of the best, but lets not go overboard. A fantastic player in the prime of his career, nothing more.

I just read La Tercera newspaper article in Spanish and I think this deal is going to happen. I was in the camp who believed this Vidal rumor was all bullshit, but I am now convinced this is going to get done.

Great signing by us.

As a box to box midfielder, with his energy being one of his biggest qualities, his game would decline a lot IMO. Though he could change to a defensive midfielder once he loses his legs a bit, as he's excellent defensively. IMO he'd be at his world class level as a box to box midfielder for probably 4 seasons, and then after that he could have 2-3 very good season as a defensive mid. Even £40m would be a great price for him I think.

Can't see why Vidal's age would to a problem. Yaya Toure signed for City at 27 and has given them exemplary service. If Vidal can do something similar for United for the next half decade it'll be money well spent. Once his work-rate starts going down a bit, maybe we can deploy him as a purely defensive midfielder, like Keane later on in his career - and he played at United till 34..

Agreed with that.

I want to trust you, I really do.

On no I agree but I think he would be able to adapt his game, like Scholes for example, to play on for longer whilst playing at top level.

But Suarez is the same age though, isn't he?
You might forget it in the over adulation on here of The Warrior, The Chilean Leg Buster, Whirlwind, The Savage Dragon in midfield.... or whatever else he has been called in this thread....

You might forget that he is not in the Suarez category of players at all. A world class midfielder has been powdered and puffed up so much on here that he has become the Pamela Anderson of the 90s for horned up caf muppetidos.

I like how you went from speaking without certainty to congratulating the club on the signing like it's a done deal

I'm now a believer in this rumour
King Arturo!

He will have to king of game adaption as his assistant manager, Mr Ryan Giggs

@DiegoBustosCNN Hey on Di Maria, your referencing Goal who referenced the Metro, who unfortunately lied. May want to tell your followers.

@DiegoBustosCNN The Metro put it online to generate hits and said they'd got it from Marca, when Marca never said such a thing!

A tangled web of shit.

We're easy targets for those papers really. Link us to a player and they probably get a few thousand hits from all over the world.

Yeah, Juventus, a club who don't even need to sell right now, are going to sell the best midfielder in the world for 32 million. The funniest part is people actually believe it

Shaw, Herrera, Di Maria and Vidal would be a brillant summer for us. Would take us into the Top 4 again

No surprise there - he lacks the quality to be anywhere near a first team regular. Solid and very unspectacular

Don't need to sell? They missed out on Sanchez because they couldn't afford the fee no?
