as far as i know, they agreed to buy him from Partizan, but wanted to loan him to Benfica. Markovic didnt want a loan move, then went to Benfica for 10m and signed a five year contract. Chelsea somehow inserted a clause in his contract, that they could get him cheaper than the buyout clause (40m) if they want. I guess Chelsea let Benfica buy him and they inserted the clause in his contract. I would say Markovic wanted the clause too. They have another clause of 7.5m to buy 50% of his transfer rights.

I think this deal will be done eventually but I doubt the veracity of these newspapers. According to them we've signed Gaitan, Garay atleast 15 times in the last two years.

Manchester United want Arturo Vidal. The English club like the midfielder a lot and asked for information, there have been some preliminary talks between the clubs, but they didn’t start a negotiation. There are no indications that Manchester United offered €50M plus Nani for the Chilean ace, as reported by other sources. At the moment, Juventus do not intend to sell Vidal, there are no openings on that front. Vidal is still a target of the English club, even if Juventus plan to keep him.

Lazar markovic. I think he has good potential, end product is lacking. He is a bit like theo walcott, striker and winger. One for the future though.
As expected, this transfer is going to be extremely difficult to pull off.

Markovic is a cracking signing for Liverpool if/when it happens. Inconsistent as feck at the moment but he's young and he'll improve. Thought he'd end up at Chelsea though as they were linked when he left Partizan, first option thing is bollocks though I think.
He really bigs up every player in portugal including enzo perez, garay,carvalho and now markovic. Markovic is good,not a world beater yet, i think he will be like walcott more than sterling though. chelsea had first option for 12 million euros but did not sign him,
Yes i agree. It´s a great signing. Glad to see the back of him since he had good games against Sporting. Chelsea did have an option but they waived it on the Matic deal. Chelsea could buy him for 15 million, so without that clause Benfica get 10 million more. Partizan get 20% of the fee.

He doesn´t need to big up those players. All the players you mentioned are very good players. His Sterling comparison is much more apt rather Walcott.
