Well he's certainly come through on the Di Maria deal. Regained some respect/trust with a lot of United fans (and probably other fans as well).

I don't recall that and seems very unlikely he categorically said Fabregas wouldn't be joining Chelsea. He probably said it wasn't completely finalised or something along those lines.

He is a good journalist and gets a lot of unfair grief. He seems like a decent person too and I love reading his blogs and books. He is very passionate and knowledgeable about the game and unbiased in his opinion which is something I respect a lot in people.
Balague is the man.
