@Edgar Allan Pillow I was not on about balancing, I don't want the rule to change so that teams are more equal. That is up to the drafters. I said that because I think many sides wouldn't change at all. I have no problems with some teams looking very strong, I merely pointed out that they will have very little opportunity to strengthen. If I was talking about balancing, I would argue in favor of the current rule because the other teams could catch up.

When I said to you that I would add another playmaker after Modric I was actually thinking of him if the chain continued for one more round (would have to sacrifice one of the picks before, but he is worth it).

I don't think this is a very restrictive condition. Managers have still have 2 picks to manipulate so that they end up with a nice lead-on should they clear R1.
For that to happen, the chain needs to stick for two rounds imo like you had at the start.

Mackay pick opens up that possibility with Kaka imo. Also, that Milan side didn't play a classic diamond, especially 2006/07 version. And agree, Pirlo - Kaka is a great combo especially because of Kaka style which allows other playmakers to shine.
But, I guess you get some, lose some when you have this type of drafts.
