Tuedays Team ( how would you play it )

Livvie - TTR has called you babe twice in public now. Are you two the next ROD and Nate?

Niall - I reckon you're line up is the most likely, not that I agree with it, but Fergie will go with his tried and trusted(?) 4-5-1 IMO.

Personally I'd play Solskjaer up front with Ruud, with a MF of Scholes, Keano, Butt and Giggs. I'd leave Veron on the bench tonight. I also wouldn't play brown at RB cos if my memory serves me he hasn't played there all season - perhaps the odd game I'm not sure. I'd go with Neville, Blanc, Johnsen and Silvestre.

My Lineup:

--------------------Barthez-----------------------

Phil-----------Blanc--------Brown--------Silvestre

Scholes-------Veron---------Keane------------Giggs

----------------Ole----------Ruud-----------------

United just have to launch forward, but do so intelligently. Schneider and Ze Roberto must be watched carefully, so Silvestre and Phil must not drift forward too much. But, when they can go forward, they must. Veron has to be given the ball and create the chances he did against Deportivo. Furthermore, Scholes has to get himself into good positions to score (Ruud and Ole obviously have to as well).</strong><hr></blockquote>

Updated mathiaslg Lineup: Given that Ronny is back...

----------------------Barthez---------------------

Wes------------Ronny--------Blanc--------Silvestre

Scholes----------Veron--------Keane----------Giggs

-------------Ole-------------Ruud-----------------

Luckily, Wes and Silvestre are both fast. Furthermore, I would utilize Wes at RB because I don't think he would track too far up the field, which would allow Blanc/Ronny to shift over to prevent a break if Silvestre moves up to attack (which I suggest he does). Again, Veron must be given the ball, and Keane must be the anchor and prevent the uninjured bastard Ballack or the tiny Turk from getting the ball in any dangerous positions. Scholes must make the runs into the box, while Giggs could be effective driving between Schneider and Ramelow instead of simply going down the wing.

is Keane gonna be completely fit to play the whole game. IMO I think it may be best to leave him as sub until second half, at least that way he wont get injured or get a yellow card too (well it would be unlikely).
If we are losing at that point then we would need him to play but we wouldn't really want him to get subbed off before half time through injury.

would Forlan get called to play right wing? I know he is an attacker but we made need his forward thinking out wide so he should know when to strike the ball into the area for RVN and Ole

We are not playing at home and bayer are a VERY good attacking side, so I feel this is as much a game we have to look at having a 'damage control' line-up, as well as looking to attack. That is why I feel Butt MUST be in the team, as well as ofcourse Keane, but not at the expense of Veron, who could very well be the difference between a lose and a win with his penetrating passes.
MY WINNING LINE-UP:
Barthez

Brown Johnsen Blanc Micky

Butt

Scholes Veron Keane Giggs

Ruud

Lot's of CM inspired line ups in this thread I see. Since when have we ever played half of these formations people?

Barthez

Irwin
Brown
Blanc
Silvestre

Giggs
Seba
Keane
Scholes

RVN
Ole Gunnar

VENCH;-

Fortune
Carroll
P Neville
Butt
Forlan

Plain old 442 is the only way to win. By the way isn't Bayers key man Ze Roberto suspended? He got a yellow card last time didn't he?
