Surprised the video missed out Sessions at his hearing claiming nobody on the campaign met Russians. You know, Sessions, the AG, who forgot he met with Russians, twice (potentially three times).

In Manafort’s Daughters leaked messages she said that Trump “wasn’t paying Manafort because Manafort didn’t want to be under his control”.
My bet is that Trump was paying him through a shell company and those messages were conveniently leaked to give the impression that Manafort was acting outside of Trump’s control. They’ll find the paper trail.
Anyone to summarise the signifcance of this? Seems like two Guccifer Twitter id's, one of which is linked to the Podesta hack, and the other is born the day of the Trump Jr meeting, June 9. Sounds very portentious, but... I must confess I am a bit lost here.
Guccifer is suspected to be an alias created by the IRA (not that one). The suspicion is that the second account was bourne from that meeting and the intention would have been to use it to release whatever Hillary dirt they were intending to trade under the impression it was an independent “hacker” doing it and not a group affiliated to the Russian government colluding with Trump.
The new account was created the day of Don jr's meeting about "adoption", the old account was the first one to comment on it and subsequently stopped posting completely. It's just another one of those "coincidences" that end up looking just a little too suspicious.

There's some good reasons for multiple passports (i.e spies or diplomats hoping to cross difficult borders), however those passports aren't kept secret from the US government as here.
A question that hasn’t really been considered in the media yet and one I’m sure Mueller already knows the answer to - Why was Papadopoulos working so hard to connect with the Russians?
Was this because he’d been tasked with it by Manafort? Trump? Someone else in the Trump campaign? The Russians were using him as a conduit?
There’s not really been a huge amount of speculation into this in the media just yet, I have a feeling Mueller already knows the answer to these questions and that’ll be his next focus.

They wanted a low level staffer who wouldn't attract attention to be the one in direct contact with the Russians. It's been widely reported the last few days and there's emails to prove it.
I'm going to guess he was just a young kid wanting to endear himself to Trump and his campaign by (largely) overpromising his connections with the Russians - which of course doesn't absolve Trump or his ilk from their own entanglements with Putin's Russia.
To collude with an adversary with the possibility of being caught, what's in it for these types?

Trump has allegedly been laundering money for the Russians since the 90s (and maybe earlier), and is the textbook definition of a narcissist. The thought of being caught never crossed his mind. Many of his close allies, namely Manafort, Flynn and their staff have also been involved in similar schemes for a long time. They just thought they were invincible.
I should have clarified discounting Trump as I'm aware of his dark past and all.
No better deterant than inditing Trump so that no political candidate would ever think to even respond to another foreign adversary again
I know we only look at things through a certain lens but surely that's a giant red flag saying 'THIS IS ALL THE GOOD INCRIMINATING STUFF, DON'T YOU DARE LOOK AT IT'
Yeah its not going to be taken seriously since Mueller's mandate is very broad and specifically stipulates that he can investigate "...... any links and/or coordination bet ween the Russian government and individuals associated with the campaign of President Donald Trump; and any matters that arose or may arise directly from the investigation....".

So basically he can go after anything that relates to Trump or Russia and/or anything that arises as a result of his initial inquiry. That's very broad and can obviously include Trump's taxes, past real estate deals etc, so Trump's lawyers don't have a leg to stand on.
That's good to know. I take it it's just protestation to rile up his base support to try and distract from it?
I think it's pretty obvious given all we know about Trump and his financial dealings way back towards the 80's and how he's had to look abroad to potentially shadier people for loans when the US banks stopped affording him credit that he'd be connected to someone, somewhere worth investigating.
If Mueller gets him to some degree on his tax returns and then manages to blow open the Trump Organisation and it's financial affairs it'd be utterly delicious though I suspect that's wishful thinking.
Surely Mueller&co has seen Trump's tax returns by now, right? Or at least, if they wanted to look at them as a part of the investigation there would be nothing anyone could do to prevent them from it?
I would think he has. If so, then he is likely sitting on a mountain of evidence he can use to make the walls collapse around Trump.
Or it's a red herring, misdirection.
Or, maybe it is where all the juicy stuff is, but by trying to block it he hopes that Mueller will think it is a red herring and not bother to investigate, the classic double misdirection! My mind would be blown if it was a triple down misdirection tbh!

The phrase, they are their own worst enemy comes to mind. Why doesn't Jay just run out of his office and put a road sign for Mueller, not to say Mueller isnt aware of it prior to this shout-out.
Another indication Pappadopolous is almost certainly a cooperating witness, so everything he observed or did is with Mueller now.
