It's on More4 at the moment.

It's a visual documentary synched to a vocal interview done with him. First time I've seen this before. First impressions - the guy was an out and out phoney who desperately wanted to present himself as this guy who just didn't give a feck, hated himself and was steeped in apathy

And this is coming from someone who absolutely loved and still love Nirvana. I'm kinda sorry I've started to watch this.

A friend of mine who lived in Seattle was telling me that it was pretty common knowledge in the Seattle scene that he was like this. It's just the world didn't see him this way because they believed the "image" he portrayed. It just seems so hypocritcal of him that for who he portrayed himself to be, he ACTUALLY designed the image. Like a lot of folk in the punk scene. Yay we're so anti this and anti that and we are in stark contrast to the world and consumerism etc.........so how much did that leather jacket cost you, you knob

My friend from Seattle told me that there was a film crew that did this interview with Kurt Cobain. He wasn't expecting the crew to turn up so quickly. He was dressed really well and when the crew arrived he asked them to hold off until he ran upstairs, grabbed his famous black and red jumper, messed his hair up, smudged on some eye liner and then came back down to carry out the interview

Knob. Sorry but Knob

And he's going on about hating dogs because they are far too willing to please, but he likes turtles because they just sit there and say "feck you" and "I'm not going to perform for you" but their shells don't protect them at all and if you knock on the shell it hurts them and leaves them vulnerable....

Oooo Kurt....please tell me what you mean. Let me into your mind. I want to know what you mean by this metaphor

Still like the music of Nevermind but Kurt Cobain.....it wouldn't surprise me if his suicide was the final move in his attempt at "personality fashion"

i know a girl who got in a punch up with courtney love...

she has a big picture of them fighting with her smacking her right in the gob...

she interviewed kurt once... said he was ok actually but she didnt get on with courtney...

Courtney is just a horrid person from what I have read, and from what other musicians have said about her. That is fair and square.

I'm sure Kurt Cobain was an ok kinda guy but just far far far too much up his own arse. Far too arty and emo. Just one of those really annoying people

Yeah I think Emo would be a good description. Such an annoying bunch of human beings are Emo heads

I couldn't take much listening to him. I just heard about how he was saying his dad was a wanker pretty much, and that his idea of father son time was taking him to his work.

If i listened to anymore of it I think I would have shot myself!

Is anyone getting annoyed by the amount of ads in this show?

I was just thinking that. The interviewer is also really annoying. I imagine him to be wearing glasses with a big annoying 'beat me' grin on his face, sitting on the edge of his chair thinking "....Oh what's my messiah going to say next. What piece of prophetic knowledge is he going to share with me so I can find myself"

Quote from Cobain from the show:

"....I have this weird electric attraction to flies....well no...I mean flies are attracted me to....." - Shut up you fecking knob. I think I have a new found hatred for Kurt Cobain

considering he wrote an album that started

"teenage angst has paid off well
now im boared and old
self apointed judges judge
more than they have sold"

that is not too surprising...

Another part of the documentary Kurt Cobain is talking about this place he worked by the Ocean. He starts off my saying he hated it there and hated the time he spent there.....and 5 sentences later he's saying it's the best job he ever had.

The man is just full of absolute bollox. He has to say he hates everything even if he liked it.....and then he completely contradicts himself because he's full of lies.

It's just like those emo feckers who genuinely think they are on their own, alone and tortured for having individual minds - but they all look the same, listen to the same music and wear the same clothes. It's just a scam, and the people who are having a right old laugh at them are the clothing designers and bands that sell them music.

yeah but still forgetting all that they did write some pretty shit hot songs...

though i think dave grohl is much underated for his contribution to nirvana

Ah no I mean I completely agree with you. I love their music. Incredible stuff. I always go through stages where I listen to them. I appreciate them as a band, and Kurt Cobain as a song writer / vocalist - but seriously, having seen this, that's where it stops.

It's like an interview I saw with Ben Harpur where he was asked if he was hard to work with. Ben Harpur threw this hissy fit....almost started crying.....and then said that that was like him asking the interviewer if he was a good lover

Just fecking idiots that are FAR FAR FAR too into themselves. It's ugly

I hate Nirvana. IMO they are one of the worst bands I have ever heard.

Burn him. Burn and then burn your burnt carcass. Once that is burnt sell the burnt ashes to the chinese claiming they are penis ashes (which they are) to use in their potions. Blasphemes.

Must agree they are overrated though.

feckin emo's.

Why do I hate Emos

1. It's a sad day when depression is fashionable

2. Your parents don't hate you. You've just been unawaringly been sold a trend where this is fashionable

3. You are not anti-trend. Your very existence is a trend

4. You are not an individual. Your mates all look the same as you

5. There is nothing cool about cutting. It's sick, and it's a major problem

6. You will NOT be an emo forever. Stop believing you will be. It's called a "Phase"

7. Your opinions will not change the world. You only think they will. Your mates also think their opinions will change the world

8. The trend you are in made you wear makeup as a male. You didn't decide to do this

9. It's ok to listen to happy music

10. You're bisexual because your trend have pushed you into this. You didn't aquried those feelings yourself

Emo's are pure and utter fecking fools. It's not cool to be an emo, you only show yourself upto be ridiculously un-original, if anything. Poofs.

Kurt Cobain is single-handedly responsible for the stagnation of musical evolution. I am not concluding they were bad, but his suicide made their music far too influential and should never have happened. He should be alive so Nirvana could die a slow death, like the Roman empire, and everyone could move on from garageband music the following decade and a half. We have missed out on our generations Elvises, Beatles and Michael Jacksons. It's too bad.

Well said, I think they are totally overrated, and yes they spawned one of the worst genres of music.

Great music and him killing himself suggests that at least some of the angst was real I'd say. Then again I never thought twice about the image of the band and just liked their music and until he killed himself I always assumed much of the hype was just that - image to sell records.

Nowadays bands are so bland even the hype shows them to be incredibly boring corporate whores so I'll take Nirvana and even more so the best of the 70s punk/post punk and indie type 80's music any day.

i fecking hate cobain and i hate nirvana, most overrated band ever!

I dont think he comes across to well in the interview, but its difficult to really judge somebody without having walked in their shoes.
I was suprised to learn that he was in that much physical pain.
And i quess i wanted to come across as a deep thinking and emotional genius..
but he came across a little childish and very selfish.
The myth of kurt sort of died a little for me.

I never understood the grunge movement really. In my opinion the man wasn't a great lyricist or singer. Plus their number one hit was just some guy groaning to Boston's More than a feeling.

i would love to punch kurt cobain in the face

A friend of mine had to stop watching he found it so painful. He already knew Cobain was a pathological liar with a desire to be loved (even if he denied that), and he loves the music (and still does -- this hasn't changed that), but he couldn't listen to the interview. It was depressing.
