Guys, Di Maria is a great player, but he has gone....shed your tears and get over him. We will find a better replacement in a few years.

I don't disagree with much of what you said but he was never a great player for us.
We signed him based on his previous ability, he failed to live up to that promise and seems to have been a little bit precious during his time here so now we're selling him at around a £7.5mil loss. He won't even be a footnote in the history of Manchester United.

You don't understand if you think posters on here are bitter only because he is gone. They are mad because he didn't look like he could give a shite for half of last season despite being on huge wages. Lack of end product can be understood, even lack of ability can be pardoned if the player is trying hard but a lack of commitment is never acceptable to anyone.

I, like most i think, wanted him to succeed here and thought he'd be a great addition. I don't think he did that bad in terms of assists and the odd goal, but we all expected more from such an expensive signing. The last couple of months i've been indifferent wether we keep him or not. If we do sign Pedro i feel he will suit our football better than Di Maria anyway.
Oh, and we will find better players. It's not like he was the holy grail.

Probably isn't, but there are plenty of managers deal with it this way. He's not the only one. I wouldn't want to be a friend of of LvG's you aren't safe even then.

Harsh but I like his ruthlessness. I'd imagine LVG has told Valdes before his public comments to look for a new club and Valdes has made clear his intention to stay. Him going public with it was to reiterate how serious he was.
Obvious Valdes has an 18 month contract so if he wants to dig his heels in he can an he might be on not a bad wage it won't be a pay as you play deal with De Gea here that's for sure. LVG has done the best thing here we don't need any disruptions this season with players who's commitment is in question.
So childish.I kind of hoped that they (LVG and Valdes) might sort this out between them but I guess he's made his mind up. Shame really.
