If we made a bid two weeks ago and haven't made contact since then he obviously isn't a massive priority. Koeman doesn't have a reason to lie and why would we ask saints to keep in a secret ?

Also they're going on tour tomorrow ?

So it is official we are in for him but if our bid was 2 weeks ago are we:
a) slow in that we need weeks to make another bid
b) looking at our options to see if we can't sign somebody else for that price
c) not interested anymore

or d) we have already signed him and told southamption to be quite about it

No we just haven't made another bid. Doesn't mean we are not in talks.

I starting to think that Southampton are asking something in excess of £30m.

Or, not going straight back in for him, giving off the impression that we are desperate and are not arsed about the first bid being rejected. If we bid again, then this time it will be accepted IMO, but if we'd bid straight away after the first bid, then the saints may have rejected that one too.

If we haven't made another bid in 2 weeks it's probably safe to say we aren't going after him anymore.

We don't really need to "bid" for him though. That's the thing, bids are pointless. I think talks are ongoing.

Souton will just hold out until they have a bid that is acceptable for them. Whether that one comes soon or late after the rejection is a bit irrelevant I think no ?

Who is that woman on the picture ?

She CEO from Valencia or something ? Don't tell me she is the trainer ? Or do they have some welcoming girl for new players in which case they could have gone for slightly younger model I think.

I'm not so sure tbh. We bid say 20m (just guessing here) and Southampton rejected. If we immediately went in with 25m, then Southampton may think we could squeeze them for a few more quid here, so we'll reject it again. Saying that though, it is risky as feck knowing that Arsenal have been sniffing around.

Sky made it quite clear that we haven't been in contact with Southampton since the initial bid.

Or that schneiderlin isn't as much of a priority as we think.

Koeman said it plain and simple, we bid two weeks ago and haven't come back since. If the clubs were in talks then i'm sure Koeman would of said it.

I don't see what he'd have to gain from lying.

Sky made it clear we were signing Gundagon.

In which case I wonder why that is

Hopefully not because we are chasing that stupid Schweinsteiger ...

We agreed a deal until barca started sniffing around and then gundogan demanded silly wages.

Sky had only reported that a deal had apparently been agreed not that we were signing him and at the time we had a deal struck according to der western. Sky have been sloppy lately but that time they were following up solid reports.

She's the chairman of the board and Peter Lim's right hand. Valencia's president resigned last week so she's taking over his duties until they find a new president.

Where is the source on this?

Der western, but I don't have a link.

Yep, I recall the der Westen article too. They were the ones who were leading with the Gundogan story in the first place and they're Dortmund based. They clearly explain that we did have a deal agreed and then Gundogan wanted insane wages when Barca showed up but Barca ditched their interest in him sharpish too which left him high and dry. It explains why BvB themselves were convinced he was off. It was announced by their CEO a few times.

No, you're not sure Koeman would have said it, he can decide not to say it, doesn't mean he's telling a lie. As I said, a bid is pointless.

Another player represented by Mendes, the real boss in Valencia. He is doing a very good team and maybe in a year some of them will be sold ,getting a lot of commissions and buying again some more of his own players to repeat the procedure the following summer

He actually hints at that. He doesn't deny talks at all. In fact, he says 'We will see what happens in the next few days. Numbers aren't my business, it's the clubs'. That's a strong hint that he's aware talks are ongoing but that he's not involved those talks. He also said that he hopes any deals for his players are concluded asap in the interest of the player and the club.
