All of those players are significantly better, forwards and don’t have the horrific injury record Bailly has. £8-10m is all anyone will pay. He’s probably on high wages too

Ake £40 million... I'd say Bailly is worth 15 I suppose he could be on high wages though.
You recoup fees by having players perform well even if they aren't quite up to United's standards.
The level of coaching has been so poor that our players have been made to look worse than they actually are.
We have a much better chance of recouping better fees next summer when we're not coming off of the worst season in most people's living memory.
Different ball game for us due to the stupid wages and contracts our players are on.
I have a wild theory that we're not really in for Martinez but are instead helping Ajax drive up the fee on Arsenal. Hopefully in return, for about £100m, we'll get Antony and Timber on a double deal. The latter two are what we really need from Ajax.
Signing Martinez still leaves us needing a forward and a RB. Also, I don't believe he walks into our first eleven as a CB ahead of Varane and Maguire (low as his stock may be right now), so he's essentially going to be a backup utility player, albiet a great one. On the other hand, Timber can serve the same purpose, as backup for the CB position while challenging Dalot as a starter at RB. What's great about the latter option is, it also allows us to see how well Timber will fair at a CB in the EPL long-term without immediately committing to it.
Reason to doubt this theory of couse is that, it would mean Ajax losing three key players in addition to the key personnel they've already lost.
Would amazing though if true because then we would have signed (hopefully) De Jong, Malacia, Eriksen, Timber, Antony and Romero (?).
Next season line up:
Ronaldo
Sancho Bruno Antony
De Jong Fred
Shaw Maguire Varane Timber
De Gea
Bench would be: Rashford, Eriksen, Donny, Lindelof, Malacia, McSauce, Martial, Elanga, Romero.
That's not quite a title challenging team but should be enough for top 4.

Ajax aren’t going to sell both of their starting CBs
I think this is where this theory could fall apart, as stated in my post. Hypothetically speaking though, Blind could slot back into CB, with Taglifico coming back into LB. They already have Rensch for RB and are apparently in for Bergwin from Spurs as a potential Antony's replacement. Also, they'll have nearly £250m to reinvest from all the sales.

That seems to be a promo for his video more than any new comment on the deal.
Not sure that squad is better than Chelsea or Spurs, Not even sure it’s better than Newcastle the way they finished the season and the money they have would put Man united in front of them, people forget they finished on only 9 points behind us and have an endless pot of money. Eddie Howe wants to keep the job so he will be set an almost impossible target of Top 7 this season to prevent the Saudis from recruiting a recognised Elite Manager like Pochetino, Mourinho, Ancelotti who will be sacked by the end of the season. This season will be the most difficult in PL history you can say that PL now falls into three categories and even the bottom teams like Forrest, Bouremouth and Fulham can easily beat any team on their day as we saw with Forest in the Fa Cup last season. Spurs with Conte and a few more signings can split the top 2 and finish second this season that’s how good Conte is, a manager that took a 10th place Chelsea with 50 points to a title the season after with 93!
I'm hoping the lack of outgoings on permanent deals is because Ten Hag wants to evaluate everyone first and not because we can't move them. There are just so many that need to move on and we could easily buy another player for their combined fee.
Probably more to do with nobody wanting to pay the players what we are paying. I would hope so anyway, I don't think ten hag will learn anything more about the likes of martial and awb I'm a few training sessions

but i'm hoping it means Romero has an update soon and he's just fishing for hype. We tend to dismiss the fact we just had our worst season ever in the Premier League, an anomaly. We've been far from the team we were, but this season was atrocious. We won't be anywhere near this level this season.
We can’t be any worse that is for sure but I honestly see us finishing 6th again. As long as the football is good and we can see progress I will be more than content. Obviously if we could win the Europa and qualify for the CL, it would be very helpful for next summers window and the continued rebuild.

It's a bit silly arguing about our hypothetical squad that is very unlikely to be put together but I'll indulge for the fun of it.
You don't think that squad is better than Newcastle's? Looking at that first 11, which Newcastle players do you think would get in there?
Yes they had a great 2nd half to last season and have subsequently strengthened. However, I don't think it's guaranteed it'll translate to similar results this year. We can attest to this having finished second, signed Varane, Ronaldo, Sancho and ended up 6th!
Another reason Newcastle did so well was most teams approached playing them expecting to win. I imagine that will change this year.
Also, A huge part of why we underperformed last year was because we had an inferior team to most, this is very different to having inferior individuals. I would argue that with that squad, the only two teams with better individuals would be City and Liverpool. Us, Chlesea and Spurs would be in a similar banding and we would be better than Arsenal, West ham, Newcastle, Wolves and Leicester, next band.
This is where ETH has to prove his worth, it's his job to turn that squad into a team and I have faith he'll be able to do it.
Yes I agree that it'll be the toughest season...possibly ever. however, this applies to everyone, not just us.
