Not really. United did submit an offer to Real Madrid (not necessarily formal), which indicates that they're already in contacts. They also said that Real Madrid aren't compelled to sell him but can if the player chooses to leave. Finally, they mentioned that the player is open to joining United even though his preference was to stay at Real Madrid.
