Also, shame on Ornstein for putting an article behind a paywall that is essentially ripped off from Ballague's update.
I’m wary of this signing but this is clearly not true. He’s never been better. He is still good but definitely past his prime
What a joke. All our eggs in the basket of a player who will likely reject us with just a few days left of the window.
What happened to buying a striker?
Why is right back some kind of afterthought while we're stuck playing Dalot?
How do you reckon that, when was his prime? He is still good but definitely past his prime

With the double his wages talk, are we at Ronaldo wages then?
this place is insane . "We need a DM, we need some one who can change the way we play right now , we need to spend money on top quality , why do other teams buy such good players and United don't ....etc. etc. "
Do you want Casemiro arguably the best DM in the world ?
"no ,too old and too expensive "
nuts man, nuts .
I would be thrilled to see him play for united! bring in loads of top quality players and who knows we might not suck .
More on Sancho or Varane wages. So stupidly high. With the double his wages talk, are we at Ronaldo wages then?
A lot of money, but looking at what Liverpool pay Salah at a similar age, it's not outrageous at all for the best player in his positionApparently it’s not true
The figure mentioned is £300k
Agreed.Balague is a twat. That is all

Better than I feared then.Apparently it’s not true

Stupidly high yes, but if he actually earns it on the field I'd be okay with it.More on Sancho or Varane wages. So stupidly high.
Spending 50 million and 400K a week on Casemiro is just symptomatic of the complete dysfunction at the club. Don't care how good Casemiro has been, he's going to be required to essentially save the club's midfield on his own which is night and day to what he was required to do at Madrid. One thing to just win the ball back and pass to Modric and Kroos. Whole different thing to run the midfield, control the game and also shield the defence on your own, all at the same time.
Also, La Liga is walking pace compared to the PL. La Liga is basically exhibition pace football. How quick (both in feet and mind) will Casemiro still be as a 30 year old with a lot of miles on his body already. As great as he was defensively, he already looked like he lost steps last season and two seasons ago. Going to look even worse playing with the likes of McFred and Maguire in by far the fastest and most physical league on the planet.
I mean there will be a hefty fee involved as well, but you could easily argue Casemiro aged 30 for £300k/w is better value than the guys you mentionedI posted a quick comparison;
Kante 290k
Koulibaly 295k and 31
Busquets 350k and 34
Ten Hag: Same as La liga? Same tempo? Also, La Liga is walking pace compared to the PL. La Liga is basically exhibition pace football.
Please do remind me who Real Madrid beat en route to yet another CL victorySpending 50 million and 400K a week on Casemiro is just symptomatic of the complete dysfunction at the club. so who should we buy ?Yeah like buying all sorts of supposed quality players has worked really well for us either
Barca just found another lever.I posted a quick comparison;
Kante 290k
Koulibaly 295k and 31
Busquets 350k and 34
Dominated by PSG, Chelsea and City for large parts of all ties. Saved by late, improbable comebacks all three times. Also, McFred, Maguire, Martinez Varane, Lindelof, Eriksen are not Modric, Toni Kroos, David Alaba, Militao, Camavinga and co.Please do remind me who Real Madrid beat en route to yet another CL victory
It's amazing how defensive some people get if you express concerns over a deal like this. As if it's a slam dunk that can't possibly go wrong.
I bet many of those same people said the same type of things when we signed Sanchez. "Premier League proven!" "World class attacker!"
He is still good but definitely past his prime
The club is the broken record. Same mistakes over and over again. You’re like a broken record in every thread.
You’d be happy if he transformed the team and helped us win a trophy thoughThe club is the broken record. Same mistakes over and over again.
Yes. He won't though. We've been here before. You’d be happy if he transformed the team and helped us win a trophy though
Well actually he's not past his prime. You can repeat it but it wont mean it will be true.Crazy really. We have continuously signed 30+ guys on big contracts and seen poor return so not sure why it’s wrong to even question the idea . Also for me someone being past his prime is not the same as them being awful but what do I know
Thanks for your valuable contribution. There is a reason the European champions have signed someone to take over from him soon. He is obviously a quality player but I have been burnt far too many times with 30+ guys trying to get a big last paycheck.

This idea that as soon as a player turns 30 he turns to shit. I don't know where they get it from.
That’s fine. It’s all about opinions. There is no real way to say what you are saying is true either. It is my opinion that he is not what we need specially at the money quoted but people are free to disagree. I can already predict how this will go if he signs for us, you can quote me back if I am wrong
Yeah but that was several weeks ago. He could've forgotten how to play football by nowApart from the fact that, in his last competitive club game, he was one of the best players on the pitch in a UCL final.
Well we already have a former Real Madrid guy who was excellent for them and has looked completely out of place playing for us. Casemiro is obviously a very good player but in this dysfunctional club with nothing to prove he is going to down his tools within a yearApart from the fact that, in his last competitive club game, he was one of the best players on the pitch in a UCL final.
