We have 2 forwards, in Rashford and Martial, who we know are capable of scoring 20 goals a season, when properly motivated.

If Ten Hag can get the best out of them, we don't need a forward. If he can get Bruno & Sancho scoring at the level they're used to, I really don't think a striker is a priority for next season.

For now it's about getting back in the Champions League.
So you want us to sign players who are good enough to get us into the CL. What’s the plan once that’s achieved? Do we suddenly replace them all because we’ve signed players who aren’t good enough to help us win the league?

Has there been anything at all on outgoings apart from Preseason Pirlo?

He and the contract expiring of pogba, cavani, mata, matic and Lingard. (and Greenwood of course) Henderson gone too.

So a decent trimming of squad, but should be looking to sell awb, jones, bailly, Telles and listen to good offers for martial

We’re full of crap players on godlike wages, selling the likes of Jonesy, Bailly etc would be nearly impossible ..

Shouldn't be too hard to upgrade on our current options.
Problem is and always was....selling. You can't buy new rb while you have two already. You can't buy a new highly rated striker while you have Ronaldo.

We must sell and we simply suck in that

I think it’s been evident all summer that we’re open to selling all of Telles, Williams, Axel, Jones, Bailly and AWB.

Our strategy seems pretty clear so I’ve never understood the constant moaning:
Malacia, De Jong, Martinez and Eriksen for the 120m budget that was rumoured then the sales of Pereira, Chong, Axel, Jones, Bailly, Williams and Telles to raise the funds for Antony when Ajax inevitably see sense. If we get a good offer for AWB then we’ll sign a RB. If one of Martial/Ronaldo leaves we’ll sign a striker.
Good post. I think you've nailed it. You'd have to hope that there's at least £50m in the bolded lot listed above.

how about players who are currently good enough to help us win the league wanting to go to clubs who are in with a real shout of winning said league.

That's usually how it goes. No one buys 11 high potential players and expects to win everything with that team for the next 10 years. Some players will last, some are just temporary - it's the way it's always been.

As long as our foundations are good, we will get back into the champions league, and then from there we will sign players who improve us to take us to the next level.

The strategy of getting in your target positions in first before letting players surplus to requirement go makes good sense to me. If we got rid of the players first, it weakens our bargaining position and surely just signals to the selling team to hold out for the highest fee possible.

I can see us getting Martinez and (hopefully) a RB in before letting the likes of Bailly, Jones, Tuanzebe, Telles and 1 of Wan Bissaka or Dalot (or both) go towards the end of the window.

We should sign Feyenoord’s right back too in my opinion, Pedersen. Exciting young attacking right back with bags of pace and an excellent engine.

There aren't many obvious RB targets available so I don't think we'll sign one in this window. Maybe in January if Dalot and AWB drive Ten Hag completely mad over the next few months.

MEN is content spam. They got nothing and yet dump out 5 articles a day and call it work.

2 forwards neither of whom can play up front to any decent standard. Scored a lot of their goals cutting in from the left in empty stadiums. And both of whom have given up on football.

£300,000 for Dylan Levitt, that will get us a strikers nose hair.
£300k, no buy back clause? Had quite high hopes for Levitt, think he'll head to a bigger team after this season.

Yeah we knew all those were going, there's quality in those players that needs to be replaced and improved, then of course we need to sell the rest of the sh*t.

Thought I read united had add ones plus a 25% sell on clause

Sure they said there is a sell on clause, so might make some more money down the line at least.

It’s only a 2 year contract though so unless they sell next summer, I see him walking for free the following summer
They’ll sell next summer. He’s going back to ensure he gets in the Welsh World Cup Squad. Dundee make a profit, we get 25%, he’s guaranteed first team footy in a World Cup year - wins all around.

Yes, until we find the right player we have to continue improving on the ones we have. Just like we did with Telles, he came in for a couple of years and now we have found a cheaper, younger replacement with more potential to challenge for a starting spot we sell Telles. If we had done that previously we wouldn't have a lot of the deadwood we have polluting the place.

EDIT: I finally found the source

De Ligt to FC Bayern and CR7 to Chelsea?

In an exclusive interview with Wettfreunde, Di Marzio talks about the transfers of the Juve defender and the Man United striker. More transfer rumours on DeJong, Dybala, Koulibaly, Pepe, Martinez

I read people are saying he's rubbish.
Why are we being linked to him? Is there some kind of potential to unlock?

Seems like EtH isn't a scouting manager and only really knows a few players who he's worked with or regularly faced off against so he's limited to bringing players in from this list I guess... Since we don't have scouts.
