Even if we buy him for €4m, give him a normal wage, play him in 10-15 games across the season, we could easily bank €10-15m in one year’s time.

Lemar's agent, Arthur Poupel, about the recent contract negotiations:
Thomas has never refused to extend his contract. Atletico made us a first offer at the end of last year, we responded with a counter-offer in January. Since then, we have had no further news from them. Thomas is not at all closed to an extension in Madrid.

Barcelona has also been doing this to Leeds for Raphinha. Arsenal have operated in the same way, too, both with Raphinha and Gabriel Jesus. Chelsea are doing the same to Koundé. It's a normal thing, but people think this is somehow exclusive to Manchester United.
