According to whoscored, he has played right back four times this season. The season before that, he had 16 apps, 4 of which were from the bench. No sign of him being able to ''hold the midfield'' neither.
Granted, he may be a player with loads of potential, Timber is a centre back, and if he were to come, that's where he'd play - especially for the most part anyway. He has next to no experience in other positions, hence why I don't understand why people think he'd be a utility player.
Gvardiol is someone who have been impressed with on the few occasions i've seen him, and would fit the criteria of being a left footed centre back, who can fill in at left back. Heard he dreams of playing for Liverpool, though.
