Surely full Woodward is signing dross we don't need?
I think of panic signing Fellaini on deadline day after putting everything into signing Fabregas for like 2 months. Who Barcelona were never going to sell that Summer.

Or refusing to sign Maguire for £80m. Then signing Maguire for £80m 12 months later

Partizan's VP confirms that they're in negotiations with Manchester United over Filip Stevanovic.

EDIT: Romano was also asked about this:

Bayer Leverkusen CEO on the Kai Havertz transfer saga:

Quote:
It was always clear that there would be talks as soon as the Europa League ended for us. Kai has expressed a wish to take the next step. Whether this will work in the near future or not, I can’t say at the moment.

There are several clubs who want to include Kai Havertz in their future plans.

Juventus are looking at various forward options to bolster their side.

Among them:
  • Arkadiusz Milik
    • Tied to Bernardeschi's departure to Napoli
  • Edin Dzeko
    • Roma don't want to sell him
  • Alvaro Morata, Duvan Zapata
    • Too expensive
  • Alexandre Lacazette
    • Best alternative to Milik
  • Raul Jimenez
    • Next-best alternative
At the moment, it looks like Juve are prioritising their incoming attacking options like this:
  1. Milik
  2. Lacazette
  3. Raul Jimenez

Atalanta are going after Florian Thauvin.

Thauvin has already rejected a contract renewal with Marseille, but his relatively high wages are a potential problem for Atalanta.

More details on Chong getting closer to be loaned out to Werder Bremen:

According to Bild, the progression has come because United have softened on their wage demands to Bremen. The deal can be completed today if all goes well.

This is positive. Chong needs the game time and he’s unlikely to get much here. Flashes of potential but still very much a work in progress. Good luck to him.

I've been out of the loop for various reasons, and I'm sure this has been answered, but what happened to the sky Italia guy who used to get all the scoops?

Are you talking about Gianluca di Marzio? He still has all of the scoops, but he himself focuses mainly on Italy. Fabrizio Romano is his correspondent in England (this used to be David Amoyal before he took a step back and moved to America). Nothing has changed except for Romano coming in for Amoyal.

Yes, the first guy. A couple of years back everyone used to treat his word as gospel, but I have not seen his name pop up in here lately.

The Antoine Griezmann transfer saga put a bunch of people off of his coverage. The Dybala transfer saga became the final nail in the coffin for a few others. I, however, still trust his transfer news as long as it is associated with Italian football in some way. With Romano, however, I extend my confidence over to English transfer news and any other news associated with English football.

For example, this article isn't something that I'd rely on. Sure, Halilovic went to AC Milan on loan, but that was in 2018. There's been no mention of AC Milan or any other Italian club going after Halilovic in this article, so this, to me, is a weaker transfer news than any of their other articles.

Surely Juve can do better than that? If that was United looking for no.9 options, I'd be very underwhelmed.

May as well keep him. Early signs show Woodward is going to go full Woodwood again this Summer, so I don’t expect anything coming in
Hang on...so we called Roma’s bluff and rejected their offer because it didn’t meet our asking price and Woody is still getting stick now it seems they’re ready to come back and meet it!

Watford have also confirmed 7 departures. Two of the notable ones are Cucho Hernandez to Getafe on loan (previously on loan to Mallorca), and Dimitri Foulquier to Granada.

Everton will do pretty well in Portugal. Good signing for Benfica. They really needed a bit of rejuvenation.

Interested to see how this Everton chap translates his form to a higher level now.
