Hasn’t that been reported, aside from appearing to be obvious, far longer than a few weeks ago?
It's been reported before aswell, where James Ducker reported that his approval was required countless times when we were trying to sign Maguire which slowed negotiations. The Athletic also reported the same and it was said that transfer deals were taking longer to complete due to Joel Glazer's approval being sought on all incomings/outgoings. Simon Stone also touched upon the same thing on 5 live.
The only way way things can improve imo is if he takes a active role in the negotiation process. Because I can't see him giving any control to a outsider when it comes to the money side.
I really didn't know this. Find it odd that someone who hasn't shown any inclination nor desire to be involved in the running of our club wants to not only sign off every detail but also stall/deliberate it to an extent that does harm rather than good. You'd think he'd delegate somewhat given he knows feck all about the topic and it's hurting deals go through
I think i read a report from MEN that the Glazers have given their approval to sign Sancho after the season ends. I think the tweet was in the Sancho thread. Whether that's clickbait or guesswork i don't know but perhaps the club do need the owners to approve and sign off on every transfer, as every club owners do

We could have the best negotiating team in the world but if the guy that controls everything is in a different time zone then that is a problem. Northcroft said that he (Joel) controls every small detail at the club and without his say so nothing can happen. Hopefully the protests might have had some affect on him and we hopefully see more effeciency in the upcoming window.

Just to add on a bit more to Frank's answer, Avram's the Glazer who'll be selling his shares in the club, so he was the worst person to ask about the recent happenings. Joel's the only Glazer in the family who actually cares about the club (as well as the Tampa Bay Buccaneers); the rest are just in it to make easy money.
We'll see if that's the case, but he's further ahead in his development than those two were in his age.

Trippier is a fine signing. Do we have proper backup for AWB? No. Williams scares me when he’s plays and needs a loan
4 years younger than Cavani, so what’s the right age? Maybe we can sign some18 year old from Italy who’ll be the GOAT, but not actually help for a few seasons? I don’t want tripper at United as he can’t defend, but so over people harping on about age, oldest player we signed last summer is one of our best signing in ages, as was Ibra.
We sign a quality player age isn’t an issue, how they perform is.

Summary:
Trippier the perfect back up to AWB.
Can't see why we'd offer Mata a new deal to be honest.
Won't find many adequate back-ups to AWB on the cheap. Trippier fits like a glove in that regard.
I doubt that we will, too. I think that Ole's playing coy just to not give the club's position away to the public.
I'm not sure if I can see him fitting into the Leeds side, to be honest. Harrison offers them a good amount of work rate on the left wing, and I don't know how they'll be able to keep their defensive balance with both him and Raphinha in the same team.
I agree to some extent, but it depends on fee. A £10 mill fee would, as an example, be a cost of somewhere between £3 and 5 mill a season. Not a huge risk in my opinion. And I think Laird could benefit from a few years playing regular at a lower level.
Klopp commented how they tried blocking Shaw to prevent us playing out from the back. Having a right back like Trippier would make that more difficult.
Trippier is an experienced PL-player, and has been very influential this season for a team that looks likely to win La Liga. He is a totally different type from AWB something that would give us «more tools in the toolbox». Maybe a bit too old, but I could easily see him continue at his current level for two more years.

Fabio Blanco's a great acquisition, but Kolo Muani's honestly underwhelming. I guess the latter will offer some more depth, but even then, I'm not sure if he'll be worth it.
Trippier would be a solid addition to the squad and allow AWB some much needed rest time. Good experience in the Premier League and Champions League as long as it is not crazy money then not a lot of downsides here.
I really hope Williams does kick on but I very rarely see him take players on now, he often cuts back inside and plays the ball sideways or backwards, so if we are reliant on width from our fullbacks, it really kills the momentum.
