I just have this gut feeling that Pogba will stay & especially since they are reportedly only wanting £25M for him, we wouldn’t give a £120M+ player away as well as parting with £25M. Just doesn’t make sense we’d let Pogba go as well in the deal.
Plus Bruno wants assurances that Pogba will stay before he signs a new contract, hopefully Pogba will see this as a sign and sign the contract.

This story about Bruno wanting assurances came from The Sun, so... Sounds a bit strange, to be honest. For me, it´s still a bit worrying that Raiola came out so clear about Pogba wanting to leave, and if Pogba really insists, I think United will let him go, and then a swap deal with Juventus is perhaps the most realistic option knowing Real Madrid will hesitate signing a new player on high wages.
I hope you are right, but my gut-feeling says 50/50.
I've watched him him a few times and I think he'll end up playing centrally in the long term. I personally prefer this type of signing due to the high potential for growth due to the player's potential. Sima to me looks like a forward who will develop into a all round forward with target man, combination play capabilities due to his pace, physicality and aerial ability. His first touch is also very good from the limited games I've watched.
He's also playing for a club that likely won't ask for a lot. And with a bit of time and patience, this signing could prove to be a very good one. I'd prefer a signing like this, rather than sign a stop gap like Cavani or even Ighalo due to the long-term planning aspect and we'd save money too in comparison.
Wouldn't be averse to this IF we actually spent some proper money on CB & RW, don't bother talking about CDM options anymore because Ole will always stay loyal to McFred whoever is available in that position

There's a young midfielder at Metz in France (Pape Matar Sarr) who looks a seriously talented young midfielder for the double pivot. He's still only 18, but it's these type of deals that we should do if we're under financial constraints to improve the midfield with a long term mindset.
The McFred duo can still play but having someone like a Pape Sarr as back up will aid us in the long run IMO.

I believe the team is run properly as things stand. But I personally want to see us sign players like Sarr, who are playing first team football in major European leagues currently and loan them out. In Sarr's case, I'd loan him to the French league if possible.
Is this our 2021 version of the Jones renewal? Could go both ways, but its a big gamble. Bailly has potential, but so did Jones. Not playing consistently hampers develpoment, and Bailly played around 100 games in his 5 years in United, whilst Maguire did that in just over 1.5 season.
I think this is a trade off to avoid spending on CB position this summer. We’ll spend elsewhere, as i can’t see us renewing Bailly’s contract to have him as 4th choice CB, nor him signing one.

Jones is basically done, Tuanzebe isn't ready/able to be a regular starter, and we've lost Rojo and Smalling in the last 18mths. Even if we keep Bailly we still need another CB. If we'd let Bailly leave (and we weren't going to get much transfer-fee wise) we'd have to sign two new CBs. Not to mention we may need a new striker if Cavani leaves (as expected), we still need a RW, and could really do with replacing Matic (plus Mata is on his way out)

Whilst this indicates we’ve been very lucky with CB injuries this season, it is still an argument that we don’t need another CB to make up the numbers. I agree we need a CB if Bailly(or another CB) left, but not when/if he stays. It is a sign we’ll continue with Maglof with Bailly as main backup/competition. Tuanzebe behind him in case of injuries. For emergencies we can use Shaw, McTominay(played CB at national team), and Mengi if he doesn’t get sent on another loan(i hope he does).

Amad/Pellistri are exactly the same kind of signing, & this signing would be exathe same, so in my humble opinion I think we’re doing rather well and have somewhat learned from galatico type signings of past
Exactly, look at the Signings Bayern has made - Davies, Sarr, Roca - all were cheap punts and they got a lottery in one. Always felt we don't do enough scouting or take punts and we are quite happy with solid Signings like Maguire or AWB, even if it's means expensive.
Bayern buy from a position of strength allowing them to supplement the stars they have with some unearthed gems. They also play in a one team pub league. United don’t have that benefit.
Yeah the problem we have is that we are under an immense amount of pressure in every game whilst playing in the most competitive league in the world. Which is why it takes players like Amad time to get games.
If we take punts on a load of youngsters they would almost all have to go on loan. Which might not always be what the players want. It's different for Bayern as they can field kids and win games in that league with that team.

By a lot of accounts, we were in for Davies. Would we have ever played him at LB either? The other two I'm pretty sure they're happy to shift this summer. We've also just signed two wingers in Pellestri and Amad in the exact same vein of transfer you're talking about.
I think you're off the mark on your assessment of our scouting and transfer policy, you've just taken one window to fit your argument.
Don’t forget our youth spending has been increasing the past few seasons as well (Hannibal, Willy, etc) as we need to compete with the other elite clubs as well.
