He actually is. But it's definitely funny how he's being ignored by top clubs that have needed a new coach
Well he's not otherwise he'd have been hired by one of these clubs instead of constantly being overlooked by clubs appointing people who understand the culture of the club. He'll end up back at Tottenham after Mourinho gets sacked, you heard it here first.

Right so Pirlo is better than Pochettino

Funny that. People on here keep telling me he's the best manager available.

I still think he is. He made Spurs a serious team on a strict budget and took them to a CL final. Spurs!

Juventus don’t really do foreign managers though, so it was always going to be an outside shot.

Whoever gets Pochettino will be very lucky. Possibly Inter if Conte continues to be a madman.

Or maybe Pochettino is very overrated by the cult that adores him? If he was such a fantastic manager he would surely have been hired by a top club already?

I genuinely don’t understand people who can’t see how impressive his work was at Spurs. No one would have believed you if you told them what he would have done there before he arrived.

This was a Spurs who had a culture where, even being 3-0 down at halftime, you laughed them off. He changed the culture of the club and had them consistently in the CL beating teams like Real Madrid and City.

He did a fantastic job. Few would have done better given his restrictions at Spurs.

I am not seeing the list of teams that have passed him up. United stuck with Ole and Juve appoint Italian bosses. Where are all these teams who have said no to him?

Sense. BVB hold the cards and I dont think Sancho will kick up a fuss if this move doesn't materialise this summer.

He (Sancho) seem like a confident smart guy and next summer there could be even better options available.

I think United would be wise to have a couple of fall back options.
He is absolutely terrible. fecking hate him. Hope people stop employing him ffs.
Er,ok.
Marcotti doesn’t know anything.
One of the best European sports journalists in the game but, hey, 'he doesn't know anything'.

You can’t be serious with Poch, Allegri is miiiiiles ahead of him in any department. That said, Pirlo is an intriguing bet. We’ll see.

Barcelona also took a pass... he did a fine job at Spurs no doubt. But I disagree with him being a sure thing for success if hired. His failure this season was pretty surprising considering he got money to improve the team and kept his best players.

Pirlo was only appointed the U23 Juve manager last week....this smells like they were just waiting for Sarri to fail before they appointed him as manager....sneaky Juve

He got some money after managing seasons with none though. There was a summer where they literally didn’t sign anyone and he still competed against the very top clubs consistently, whose transfer spend and wage bill dwarfed his.

He isn’t a sure thing, who knows how he would deal with egos and megastars for example, but then, who is a sure thing in football?

I think he would do really well with better players and more resources. I am not a fanboy, but I just couldn’t help but be impressed with his work at Spurs when those around him were paying so much.

Forget his consistent qualifications and punching above his weight. A CL final from Spurs is mental and may not be seen again in our lifetime.

It only made sense because of the work he had already done.

Its was too late by then the damage was already done tbh, the team was already on its knees. The time to invest properly was the summer before last and the season they finished 2nd.

Matt Law has his say on the potential of a Jorginho transfer after Sarri got sacked:

What's interesting is that there's no news on this in Italy from Pedulla and di Marzio, so I'm not sure if this is more about Chelsea pushing Jorginho out than Italian clubs actively pursuing him.

Just shows how much bs the papers put out. Juve had Pirlo lined up before Sarri was sacked, yet the papers were throwing Poch and Pep around straight away saying Poch at least had been contacted.

Time for some more reliable transfer news:

Translation:
Havertz absolutely wants to join Chelsea. The player has agreed on a 5-year contract. Discussions continue between Leverkusen and Chelsea. [However,] Chelsea are optimistic. Chelsea hope to finalise [the deal] in the coming days by staggering the payments.

There appears to be nothing new there except that Havertz has agreed a 5-year contract.

I like how almost every journalist is trying to have a say on the Havertz & Sancho transfer sagas.

Sounds very similar to our current situation

Matt Law tweeted how Juventus is looking at Poch as their manager and 1 hour after that Pirlo was appointed. He has no clue what Juventus wants.

I'd love it if all these German clubs showed a fraction of the backbone when it came to letting Bayern help themselves to their players.

Poch was being targeted, though; di Marzio and other reliable Italian journalists were reporting the same thing.

Didn't Poch say he wouldn’t manage Barcelona becauseof his Espanyol connection

They didn’t finish 2nd did they? I thought they finished 3rd the year Leicester won it and everyone says it was a two horse race?

Yep, 3rd 15-16 and 2nd the following year.

He needs to be here and should be with the squad in Germany to settle down in his new team. The need for this is often underestimated.
There won't be any serious preseason so this will be it.
It’s seriously not underestimated whatsoever. From all the reports it’s quite obvious we didn’t waste time getting negotiations started with Dortmund.

We’ve been trying to get him in asap. It’s them who are being tough just like Leicester did with Maguire and somewhat similar situation with Bruno. Everyone wants to take us to the cleaners knowing fine well we’ve got the money and will eventually pay up.

For what it’s worth, I honestly don’t care if we sign Sancho late. I just hope we can save some money wherever possible while also making Dortmund look stupid with the number of times they came out talking to the press about stupid deadlines and a sum of money which is just impractical during the current pandemic.

Tbh I used to follow ESPN FC a lot before I ever found out about this Caf. He’s not all that bad. His views are very calculated and practical. In fact he’s much better than the rest of the lot on espn. Specially Craig Burley who does my head in with his arrogant tone.

I can’t help feeling that this news being in the public domain doesn’t really help us in finding a buyer.

“Yeah, sure, his knee is completely fecked but on the upside, he’s been doing a huge amount of low intensity stretching in an attempt to pull the wool over your eyes and make his smashed up knee your problem. Shall we shake hands at £20m?”.

No one is good on ESPN FC. Literally no one including Gab. People from the cafe will be better unbiased analysts than any of them.
