Koeman desires for a new striker to help Barcelona score more goals.

Jesus I thought we were badly run, you couldn't make it up, they need a striker but paid of Saurez's contract to let him leave for free who then joined Barca Rivals Atletico who are top of La Liga and on course to win the title and Saurez has contributed 9 goals so far one being a late winner in there last game ! :wenger: Couldn't happen to a better club tbh

Moving Suarez must have been a political thing to piss off Messi.

Its almost like they overplayed their hand and fecked it up.
thats exactly what they did. Now they are trying to make it sound like their is a race for his signature when the truth is no club is going to pay 120M for him or anything even close to that .

They'll be lucky to get £80m for him next summer. Still no fans in stadiums, most clubs still losing money, transfer fees seem to be stabilising on the whole due to covid and sensible business.

Where are all those people who said "just pay it!" last summer? I was told by them that his price would only rise in the next 12 months? It's all gone very quiet.

I think most, myself included, were more concerned that we would miss out on the free-run we had on him in the last window and that many more clubs would be interested next summer.

With his contract running down I don’t remember many saying his value would go above what Dortmund were asking.

Some were, but not too many. A few clueless people saying he'd cost 150m now . Most people with sense knew with the Covid cloud still hanging over the sport, perhaps a change of his form, and his contract being that one year shorter 2020 was the summer for them to rinse the most out of him, and they blew it.

The point about us having more competition after that window was valid, and a bigger concern of mine, still is.

Yeah it was never going to be more expensive than it was in 2020. They tried taking us to the cleaners and it’s backfired.

Which must be a killer for them and their business model, ie: buying teenagers cheap and selling for a huge profit.
Seeing as though he was their most valuable player and the value has likely halved.

Zork playing billy big bollocks about not needing the money, I’m not buying it, every club needs the money after Covid.

Pretty much 70% of that thread were saying it's now or never and that he'd cost more and be off to a rival. But I, along with a few others, put out a rational and logical case that this wouldn't be the case though it was seemingly ignored for the most part.

Sancho and Grealish. Do it.
If you can choose just two of the following three players - who would it be?

Sancho / Grealish / Haaland

I was massively behind us getting Sancho in the summer but over the course of this season my current choice would be Grealish & Haaland.

Sancho and Haaland.

I love Grealish and in an ideal world, I'd bring him in too but I just don't know where he'd fit now that we have Bruno. Maybe we could play a 4-3-3 with both of them as two floating 8/10 hybrids, but for that to work we'd need a prime Makalele, or even a younger Fernandinho as the 6, which I don't think currently exists.

I also think Sancho provides more of what we're currently missing from the team than Grealish. Add Sancho to this team and that RW issue is instantly solved. Add Grealish, and we have another stellar player, but a player whose position is pretty much occupied by Bruno.

Sancho and Grealish can create goals for fun and dominate the game with ease. Greenwood and Martial can be our striker.

So Romano was once again saying complete nonsense (or was used by someone involved).
He's a clown. Can't understand why people can't see through it.

Always arrives to the party 30 minutes after another journalist has tweeted about something. Suddenly has all the inside details. How convenient.

Incredibly has the inside story on every single transfer, no matter what player, what club, what nationality, what league, what agent. Romano has it covered.

Yeah think he overreached last summer and I think he let his relative success go to his head I said it last year as soon as "Here we go" started becoming a thing that his reliability would probably take a hit.

His re-reporting other stories and somehow knowing the inside story on every transfer is a little dubious as well.

Cant blame him, if hes doing it for likes and attention twitter plays right in to his hands. Its so cringey when he tweets about Giroud to Juve for example and his replies are filled with "United news Fab?" as if hes their best mate.

Sancho and Haaland. Grealish plays 10 or LW and everything goes through him. Whilst I think he'd be good on the right, I think you'd be limiting him a bit and we've already seen what Sancho can do on the right when in form.

Haaland as he's looking like the best striker of his generation and you never turn that type of talent down. He's not far behind Mbappe on the best players we could buy.

I for one am really, really enjoying Barcelona's current woes. All we need to do now is reassert ourselves on the world footballing stage while stepping on Liverpool and City and all will be well with the world!

I preferred the days where I trusted Romano more, his transformation into some sort of transfer god has ironically been his downfall. Just loves a bit of chat now doesn't he, bless him.

Surprised by that. I can see Rojo and maybe Jones leaving - so maybe a "squad" player as a back up perhaps. I can see Ole keeping faith in Maguire/Lindelof/Tuanzebe/Bailly (especially if the latter can remain fit). I can't see us signing a starter.

If you look at everyone we're being linked to - Caicedo, Medina, young Austro-Turkish lad, I think Ole will keep his faith in the team he has and add talented players to push them on/replace them if they don't put the effort in. It's quite refreshing compared to our usual tactic and it helps we're playing well in being able to do so.

What makes you think he has any faith in Tuanzebe? He played really good against Neymar and Mbappe and then was never picked again, and it's not like he was injured a lot of the time?

Arsenal in for Buendia. Haven't seen much of him but I have two Norwich friends who watch them every week who insist that he has a higher ceiling than Maddison ( who was previously there player) and that he would excel in any top six team.

He was class in the Prem last season, shocking that he didn't get a move

The Tweet:

Translation (from Sport Witness):
Sierra writes that Manchester United are still ‘very close’ to making the signing. The fee, contract, passport and personal terms are not a problem, and the Premier League side only need to step forward to finalise things.

AC Milan and RB Leipzig are in a race to sign promising central defender Mohamed Simakan from Strasbourg. Chelsea have also been linked to them, but this is the first time that I've seen reliable journalists link Simakan to bigger clubs. Strasbourg are demanding 15 million Euros for him.

I think if we race for anyone, should be for Haaland. Sancho for figures over 60 million is a very dodgy deal. He sure is amazing, but when he's on a rut, he's all the way.

Dortmund tried to overstep and didn't work. Glad for us, even though I really like Sancho.
