1 year with the option of a 2nd year isn't bad. The major wages are a worry, but this appears to be a stop-gap transfer just like Ibrahimovic was.

EDIT: Simon Stone mentions in his article that the wages don't break the current structure.

This might mean that he could be earning the sort of money that de Gea earns if not a little less.

Rugani is always highly ranked on FM but isn’t very good. Chelsea almost paid £30m for him a couple of seasons ago I think

The only thing not covered in the Tweet: Ruben Vinagre will leave for Olympiakos on loan for one season.

Christ, could we not have done such a deal instead for nouri, would have made more sense getting a 19 year old with potential on loan and giving it until january to see how it goes before deciding whether to potentially sign telles for free.

1+1 will be great.

Ok I'm now really, really excited. Get him in a United shirt soon.

I had a soft spot for Cavani when he had that 38 goal season for Napoli. As a stop gap I really dont mind the transfer.

If he's on major wages he's not going to be a backup for anyone. Unless its a pay per play deal and I doubt he'd go for that. Another option is reasonable base salary with bonuses for appearances. If he is a starter, what does that mean for Martial, Rashford, and Greenwood? It's already been proven that neither Rashford or Martial are strong on the right but I think Rashford has had better spells there than Martial did. Who knows, maybe Ole has been working with them in training for such an occasion. Whatever happens here I don't see us not signing a RW. We sign a true RW we could change formation and have two wide players, two center forwards, one withdrawn, and two midfielders.

I didn't want him that much few days ago when we started to get linked with him, but don't know, now I just can't wait to see him playing for us. This is really exciting in a weird way. Just get him in.

Maybe points more to the diamond again. Two of Martial, Rashford and Cavani up top.

Van de Beek, Bruno, Pogba and Matic in midfield.

Unfortunately, I can't get as excited about Cavani as some in here. His game is all about his high energy levels. Since he's getting older, his energy levels are going to go down. He'll lose the quickness that made him so tough to defend against in the box, and I'm not sure if he'll be able to keep up the intensity. There's also the matter of the injury that he suffered with PSG last season. How much of a physical toll has that taken on him?

Finally, he's sort of like Higuain in that he's prone to fluffing his chances in almost every match. After seeing Ibra miss a bunch of chances, I'm not sure if I'd be okay with seeing Cavani fluff whatever chances United create for him.

No wonder Benfica walked away from the Cavani deal.

Wages and the extortionate agent fees were probably behind that.

Don't quite understand how we still get bummed on agent fees when the players a free agent.... It's not as though the agent would have to work hard and broker a deal with the players current club.

I m not sure about him either.
Having said that I don't expect him to be a starter but rather to come on as a sub. I assume he can play with intensity for 20-30 mins.

To be fair, Luis Suarez has been playing as a starter for Atletico, and he's been hustling non-stop for them. However, he's better on the ball than Cavani is.

If Cavani starts for us, there's no doubt that he'd work hard and get involved everywhere rather than stay up front and remain quiet. However, his not-so-reliable finishing will frustrate people.

His incredible movement will be refreshing

I think fans will really, really enjoy that. His movement and positioning is amazing. However, what made it so good was his quickness in his movement. If he's lost that, then he'll be easier to contain, and Cavani will be more prone to running himself to the ground. The last thing we'd want is for a new, high-wage signing to get injured for a lengthy period of time.

If Bayern come back with a bigger bid or lian + £70m obligation to buy I think Chelsea will find it complicated to say no. Lampard seems bullish about it though.

I’ve got a shitty feeling about this Cavani business. It just feels so, so wrong....

After 20 years following MUFC and football I’m surprised people still don’t get wages and overall comp.

Players get a share of their transfer fees. The higher the better it is for them.

In a free transfer, they can command higher wages because that transfer fee share no longer exists and the buying club doesn’t need to pay the selling club.

I don’t care if Cavani commands 500k pw.

Is that because you think Cavani, at his age, would command a significant transfer fee? Especially this year, of all years? I didn’t think so.

What are you on about!! Iwobi on average per season at Arsenal scored 3 league goals and 3-6 assists. That's equivalent to what James did last season and Everton signed him last year for 28m plus more than 30m with adds on. What the feck Brewster did to even get 23m price tag, did nothing in EPL.

Let me tell you more, Dunk & Tarkowski have price tag of 50m or above, Fulham signed Mawson for 20m, Andre Gray cost 18.5m, Pickford 25m, even Andy Caroll was 35m years ago as well as Stones 50m. That's the reality, British or homegrown player is always overpriced.

15m is just an average transfer fees for players that signed from Championship club like Che Adams, Ben Gibson Llyod Kelly and etc which include when we signed James from Swansea. While majority the ones transferred from PL clubs cost minimum around 20m in average for young homegrown players which I have mentioned before.

What about you stop talking non-sense and start list me lot of names/cases, no point arguing and make false claim.
Well if what you claim is true we should have no trouble in selling James for 25M, we'll talk again when we sell him and see who was right.

I’m not a hard to please fan.

If he’s to come because we think he’ll be word class in 4 years and he’s going to play a good amount of first team football this season, then I can get fully behind this.

Hopefully not just one to play a few u23 matches then get loaned to Huddersfield
