Did they actually give him the #2 jersey or is that just for PR/introduction purposes?

Great news for the USMNT. Guardian does a good job of spotlighting the current crop of US players in the big leagues. If nothing else, it will help with the marketing having players in Barca, Juve, Chelsea, & BVB.
Yes, he has been given the #2 shirt.

If Omar Colley leaves Sampdoria for Fulham, Sampdoria will go after Roma's Federico Fazio.

EDIT: More on Fulham transfers

The Bakayoko dossier does not move forward in PSG. Thomas Tuchel still prefers Antonio Rudiger (Chelsea). Today, PSG does not appear as the favourite for T. Bakayoko but rather an Italian club.

EDIT: That's a good loan signing for Villareal, honestly. Rennes have missed out on loaning him in.

When PSG of all clubs is being financially diligent, it should give United muppets some clues on why we don't want to pay €120m for Sancho.

This next season could also get curtailed or played without fans.

Why chase Sancho then? There were other options available but we have missed our chance. Having a natural winger in the squad would be a start. Our scouts are one of the worst part of the whole club.

That is the point really. I think most people would have accepted not signing sancho if we moved onto target b or c a couple of months ago. If we actually do have another £80m to spend on him its not hard to imagine how that could be used on another rw and cb

  • Harvey Barnes will be offered a new contract.
  • Wesley Fofana will sign a 5-year-deal with Leicester.
  • Burnley rejected Leicester's 30 million Pound bid for Tarkowski (same offer was accepted for Fofana).

Roma are looking for a loan with a purchase option, but Real Madrid want to extend Borja Mayoral's contract first.

That's the issue, we refused to let our top option go for better or worse. I would have been happy with a brief that Sancho was too expensive and we moved on to other targets after Dortmund set their deadline. City getting Dias was maybe their plan C or D. But they had a list of targets and for a variety of reasons moved down it and now strengthened one of their bigger weaknesses. Very few reliable rumors for our backup options, a little on Coman, Sarr and Chiesa but nothing too concrete and I am sure there is work behind the scenes we aren't aware of. I just wish we were more efficient so we don't get fleeced and have everything settled early on.

Best case scenario we get Sancho, but he may have helped us against Palace and as we saw last season even getting a point can be the difference between 3rd and 5th. He will likely take a run of games before coming into form and getting used to our system. Seems like wasted time and even if we get a 5 mil discount was it worth it for this season if we drop points due to it and don't end up top 4?

"Contract signed".

Romano is a nice summary page for all transfers, but he isn't a reliable Tier 1 Journalist anymore.
Just using all reliable sources and adding his own small details, so he can say he confirmed it.

@mazhar13 how did Vieira get on at Sampdoria? Looked a great prospect at Leeds.
Disclaimer: I haven't watched many Sampdoria matches last season. I think I watched ~6-10 matches.

From what I've seen, he hasn't really started for Ranieri after the Serie A restart. He was left on the bench on several occasions, and he'd only come on as a sub to either see matches off or go for a winner. He'd typically play a box-to-box midfield role where he'd cover lots of ground and drive the team forward on the ball. However, he wasn't reliable enough on the ball and would misplace his passes on key moments. As a result, Ranieri would put him in a more attacking role where he wouldn't be as much of a liability for Sampdoria. They did miss his directness and energy, though.

Overall, he was average at best, but I'd say that it has more to do with Ranieri and his safe setups than with the player himself.

  • Newcastle, Rennes, and Valencia are interested in Rugani.
  • Rennes are making a push.
  • Potential loan fee: 1.5-2 million Euros
