First (real) bid has gone in for Aouar  He was hoping/waiting for Juventus and Barcelona but neither can afford it. Aulas will probably squeeze us a few more millions until it happens but that's a start. 10 days to wrap it up...

Amazing player jealous of this one if it goes through!

I'd be gutted to see him go to Arsenal, especially as they might actually be starting to look like a team that gets the best out of players.
I honestly think they could really really challenge for top 4. Arteta is looking like the real deal for me.

So everyone bar us is spending money late in the window. We will probably sell Smalling and get more excuses about covid related loss next week.

Aouar + Partey would be very good but i would still think this year is too soon. The defense is still under construction and most importantly we need a full season of Tierney. Those back/hips/shoulders niggles needs to stop because we play so much better with him.

I’d have you as favourite for top 4 along with Chelsea if this deal goes through.

Are these sources reliable?

Telefoot Chaine have some sources in French clubs and agents, but I wouldn't 100% rely on them.

RMC, however, are fully reliable:

Surely they wouldn't get him that cheap.

Have to say if arsenal do get him I think they will be strong enough to challenge for 4th spot.

I doubt that they would. Arsenal are probably feeling out the situation to see how cheap they can get him.

I dont know whats better 30m for Thiago or 40m for Aouar.

Terrific player !

If you got them I’d back you as our biggest challenger (if we don’t continue performing like we did against palace) the one thing that has surprised me with Arteta is how defensively compact and solid he’s made you. For some reason I expected him, being the assistant to Pep, to be a more gung ho attacking manager. But for him to be lauded by both Pep as an assistant and Wenger as a player who he could foresee as a manager. Feck I think there’s a serious talent there.

This is what totally fecks me off about football journalism - nobody asks why!

The Kaveh guy doesn’t say why, the presenter doesn’t simply ask, why?

Just sit and nod like sheep.
He gives two reasons in the video for his speculation of a successful Sancho move to United -

1. Dortmund's finances for last year showed a loss, plus they signed some players so the sale of Sancho might help them balance their books

2. United may be waiting for the start of their new financial quarter on October 1st to splurge the cash on a big transfer, again for accounting purposes

Yes my issue is with point 2. It’s utter bollocks.

Imagine being outspent by Arsenal and Spurs on transfer market.

He isn’t going for £40m no way. I’ll be fecking raging if he does!
There's quite a gap between RMC's 35M€ and the 44.4M£ of the other tweet. Lyon wanted 60M€ at the start of the window but they know they won't get that.
They fleeced Villa for Bertrand, could be selling Reine-Adelaide, and who knows if Depay won't get a last minute exit. I'm sure a middle ground will be found. When Aulas started talking about Arsenal's budget and maybe thinking about keeping him, you knew something was up. He did the same thing with Lacazette, 10 days later he was posing with an Arsenal shirt :D

Ducker has now reported on City going after Ruben Dias.

  • City's package for Ruben Dias includes Otamendi + cash (total value: 55 million Euros/50 million Pounds)
  • Benfica want 65 million Euros (59 million Pounds)
    • [My note] I don't know if Benfica want Otamendi included in the package or not.
  • Barcelona want Garcia, but City want 30 million Pounds [my note: why is Ducket not reporting this fee in Euros as well? Where's the consistency?]
    • City are okay with letting his contract run out if they don't get the required amount.

Jens Petter Hauge was linked with United recently via Tommy Moller Nielsen going to watch a few of his team's matches. He's now being linked with AC Milan.
