I didn't say they were high quality.
Pre-glazers we had one of the best training grounds and best medical departments in the country. We've been left far behind in that respect now. Fergie wanted the stadium expanded to 98,0000 seats. The glazers deemed the work too expensive as it would involve building over a railway line. The stadium is in need of investment and modernisation. Glazers arent interested. All they care about is their dividends. Until they sell up we are stuck with the same situation season after season after season.

The point is United don’t have to pay £108m for one player. Find another player who costs less. If anything we need new faces in just to bulk out the squad and replace players like Jones and Pereira who have been surplus to requirement for years. I would even be happy with a bench player for RW to allow Greenwood to cement his place at that position, I think he’s that good.
Instead the owners use the excuse we won’t buy anyone because £108m is too much whilst so many clubs are buying players for £20-£40m. There is no excuse for not targeting other players.
That's slightly naive, I reckon. People are aware of the optics of the Green and Gold campaign, but absolutely no way the average football fan in England is aware of the nuances of the Glazer ownership and its impact on United. I'd suggest talking to people in person, and speaking to more people in the U.K. that follow football (outside of forums, where you're likely to get more 'dedicated' followers of the sport). Just the other day I had a 'pool fan bleat on about the amount we have spent with no understanding of how much had been taken out of the club, the lack of care shown to Old Trafford, the numerous bungling of transfers etc. I mean, there's no reason why should he know about it, but that only serves to highlight why more journalists exploring the issues will increase exposure of the issues.
£18m is already more than reasonable. We're short in his position so tell them to get fecked if they can't meet that.

It's not a journalists job to pander to your transfer addiction. That's not how journalism works.
To be fair I think their bemusement is pretty justified, considering that (according to most reports) we haven't even made an official bid yet. Whatever the outcome of this (I still think that there's a some chance of us signing him – I doubt that they'd refuse a 108m bid if it actually comes, however late), our negotiation team had already failed miserably. It's still unclear what their actual strategy is (or was), if Sancho was indeed out №1 transfer target. Although their strategy is equally mysterious if Sancho wasn't out №1 target as well.

Hmm I suppose that's a fair point. But then again one could argue only a dedicated fan would read that piece anyway, but I get the point you are making. I still feel as though we get such pieces every transfer window, where they will highlight our ineptitude in getting transfers across the line due to a lack of nuance by Woodward and co and then detail the money that's been taken out of the club by the Glazers.
My primary issue with these articles is that they only appear when it seems we are failing in the transfer window, and not during the rest of the year. The way I see it it's just journalists trying to get easy clicks by preying on the frustrations of the Utd fanbase worldwide, whilst essentially reporting very little new news.

Before we turned dead good under Klopp this was the type of comment from fellow reds that would drive me up the wall. "we'll be fine with [decent but not great options]", when the aim is to improve to challenge at the top. "we'll be fine" just means "status quo is fine".

No "official" bid has been made but there has been communication on the amount between the two clubs. Manchester United are equally bemused by Dortmund insisting on third parties to negotiate what is already a complicated deal. And then they are surprised that it's taken a long time?
I think the news that fans probably won’t be back in stadiums at all until maybe March will mean that the club are going to be even more careful about spending cash, so any fee raised from selling Smalling might be required just for the Telles deal to be finalised.

Mad how other clubs seem to have no issue selling bang average players who've played about 6 games for them in the last 4 years.
I think Woodward and Judge are generally unpopular guys amongst their European counterparts. Their arrogance and general ineptitude must have pissed off enough important footballing people that we are targeted in any negotiations, buying or selling.
Would help if they answered their phones. In all seriousness, a DoF would help speed up the transfers in and out, obviously the final say comes from the glazers, but having a DoF wheeling and dealing and getting deals lined up during the season, ready for the window opening would be a massive plus. Its not like woodward would lose the final decision before going to the glazers with his recommendation. Liverpool can do transfers via committee so why cant we?
I'm kind of ok not paying 120m for Sancho. Its definitely overpriced really. Theres good deals to be had elsewhere and plenty of spots to fill. 120m could go a long, long way this summer. Of course thats dependent on us doing deals elsewhere which we wont obviously because we're inept.
