He wants to copy how Ole achieved top 4 last season so he's making a guess that may be signing british players is the key.
If you watch the Spurs documentary he kept saying his players were a nice bunch of guys so he is trying to sign some players with bite hence the Holberj and Doherty signings.

Always thought they were nasty, god help us if he makes them worse. Maybe that is why Diego Costa was being linked.

Sounds to me like we didn't plan to sign a lb this window but Reguilon has been made available and he was one of our top choices to bring in for next season. I hope we go for him. Big upgrade on Shaw and we desperately need depth in this position. Plus if he goes back on loan it's very possible Real will no longer consider selling him next season.
He’s not a big upgrade on Shaw, defensively he is suspect, given that when Shaw was injured we struggled, defensively, down that flank. He’s definitely a better option than Williams though and will suit games against lower opposition.

So it seems like this is how they're prioritising their options for up front:
  1. Suarez
  2. Dzeko
  3. Cavani
  4. Anyone else

Apparently Mason Mount was feeling unhappy about Havertz coming to Chelsea...

Borja Baston leaves Villa a few months after he signed for them to join Leganes.

This came out of nowhere; Fulham have signed former Chelsea wing back Ola Aina from Torino on loan. That's a very good signing for them.

Roma are having trouble agreeing on the agent compensation for Roma's Karsdorp, so they're looking to loan in Zappacosta from Chelsea as an alternative.

It was in the papers / online. Think about it, he is being touted in here and in the press as one of the future best LBs in the world, why would Real Madrid want to sell him so cheaply when they have Sevilla begging for another year’s loan?

You can find similar stories about the clause if sold to anyone... they don’t need him this year and possibly next but would like to raise transfer funds and do a buy back clause or at least first refusal with a 25% sell on clause makes sense really for them.

I don't mind a first refusal or a sell on clause. If we want to sell it means he wasn't good enough.

A release clause is different and if we signed him I'm sure our team would be smart enough to insert a high release clause if we even allowed one in the contract.

People are crying over spilt milk in negotiations that we know next to nothing about. Chill.

These would be great signings for Newcastle if they get them over the line.

Lyon president Jean-Michel Aulas talks about Memphis's future.

Translation:
Memphis is nearing the end of his contract. Koeman wants him at Barcelona, but they aren't the only club in for him; AS Roma are interested in him, too.
