I'm not gonna sit here and shit on Sanchez but it was important to move him on, that's a huge burden off the wages now, one of the hardest players to move on. I genuinely do wish him the best because I don't think it was a lack of effort why he failed here. We're building a surprisingly mutually beneficial relationship with Inter, I honestly wouldn't be stunned if they tried signing Smalling off us as well.

Huge, that. It’s a shame Roma backed out for Smalling. Could’ve had about £25m and whatever off the wage bill for the pair of them.
Maybe Inter will now purchase Smalling as well? Mike himself would definitely agree

He had 2 years left on his deal with us then, so Inter covering the same money for 1 year, plus adding the extra year at the end has done the trick.

Amazing if we've really come out of this with some transfer money, and shifted his 2 years of mad wages!

Arsenal definitely finishing in top 6 next year.

So Arteta is spending all his money on a 27 year old, a 28 year old and a 32 year old - and his only quality player is a 31 year old. Well - he plans ahead doesnt he ?

If the Inter chairman is reading this....

Wow. Great deal you've gotten with Sanchez. You've really pulled the wool over our eyes with this one. In fact you should wrap the deal up tonight and really rub it in. Is the next 15 mins ok? We have a new fax machine.

His wages alone are almost £25 million a year...christ

An incredible disappointment. From us disbelieving we'd got a top 5 in the league level player, to sheer horror when he couldn't outpace anyone at all, even with a 5 yard headstart.
So disappointing, and the money pushed it way ahead of the Falcao type situations.

Must be, as otherwise how would we be getting a decent fee there? Inter can't afford 350-400k a week. And if we were trousering loads of the wage still, how would we be getting 13.5m?
Inter have very rich owners since 2016..
They can absolutely afford it. Just don’t know why they want to do that.

We're not exactly short on young options in the squad so i don't mind signing players that are over 28/29, it's more the names we're linked with considering what the team needs.
If we were to sign a great CB, #10 and DM that are all 29, i'd be fine but Willian+Coutinho...
A lot of tweets are worded like "Arteta wants Partey/Coutinho and the club wants Willian" which looks like another Kia/Edu golden parachute.

Forget the Sancho news...... I can't believe we are getting a fee for Sanchez. Hahahahaha. Never has a player been more unwanted at a club, and on huge wages too. If we got 5m Euros for him and him off the wage bill we'd have all took it right? 15m though. God bless you Inter Milan. Can I interest you in a Phil 'Baresi' Jones?

Roma wanted to buy Smalling for below market value, nothing sad about that deal collapsing

I don't think they have tvs. Taking on Lukaku, Sanchez and Young from us was bonkers. Although all seem to be doing well there!

Maybe they want to have a look at Pereira, Jones and Rojo?
Please!

what a day for muppets today! Sancho and Sanchez news from Fabrizio! Even during the meeting I was checking the caf every 5 mins.

Surely to God they arent signing him to a long term deal?

There's rumours he's turned down yet another contract offer today at Chelsea so Arsenal must be dangling something decent his way.

Arsenal don't have much cash so free transfers and loans look like their new strategy.
