1 hour ago they said our window is finished. WTF.

Spurs are desperate to shift Eriksen, so they don't lose him for free in 6/12 months. Possible Spurs accept a Utd bid, if your offering considerably more than Real or other European teams will from Friday onwards. Levy must be delighted the premier league has a much shorter window than other European leagues...

I still don't see why Eriksen would go though. Better to just wait and pocket the transfer fee as a signing on bonus from Jan. You never know though if enough cash is offered to him.

Presumably Spurs Coutinho offer involves Barcelona paying Spurs to take him off their hands for the season? Coutinho being linked everywhere....Barcelona are desperate to shift him..

Earlier today, we covered a story from Record which said Manchester United are getting close to the amount demanded by Sporting for the transfer of Bruno Fernandes.
Now reading the rest of the Portuguese newspapers, we’ve realised they all agree on something: the Red Devils have been in talks with agent Jorge Mendes in the past 24 hours.
Starting with Record, they say the agent has been in Manchester to close the deal of João Cancelo, who’s joining Manchester City. Then he will focus on Bruno.
Newspaper A Bola says Mendes has been in Manchester both to talk about João Cancelo and Bruno Fernandes. He and the Sporting midfielder’s agent Miguel Pinho want to close the transfer ‘as soon as possible’.
It’s said Tottenham are offering €65m for the player, with €50m being paid now and another €15m in bonuses, but Sporting don’t really like that. Meanwhile, Manchester United offer between €75m and €80m, also with bonuses involved.
The Red Devils are not sending an official bid until they have a green light from Sporting saying they will accept the numbers.
And newspaper Correio da Manhã brings some very similar information. They also say Jorge Mendes has been meeting Manchester United yesterday, as he tries to conclude the transfer ‘as soon as possible’.

Seems he is last resort if we can't get Eriksen over the line.

I now think we'll get at least 1 more signing on deadline day.

Last minute?? :lol::lol:
It's being going on all summer

Sir Alex hardly played with a defensive midfielder.
Keane and Butt were sort of defensive midfielders. But we had such quality in midfield and defence that we didn't need a pure defensive midfielder.

All the unreliable sources throwing names in as much as they can before Thursday. Still can't see anyone coming in.

Both box to box. IIRC it was mostly Keane and another midfielder, or when Keane was injured or banned, Butt played in midfield.

We are in for a huge couple of days...

In...
Fernandes
Eriksen
Dybala
Dembele
Neymar
Umtiti
Savic
Alderweireld
Neres

Get the planes lined up, runways cleared, NHS doctors lined up on mass, medicals galore. Medicals for everyone.

Saudi oil money coming in early! Or late in the window...however you wish to look at it

Simple physics:
Mass in = Mass out

I’m loving the muppetry being shown on here this evening. It’s being taken to new heights.

Once upon a time, they were interested in Smalling.
Wenger was interested before apparently, I didn’t include him as I’d have him in my 4 centre backs with Lindelof, Maguire and Axel. The rest I’m not bothered about.

McTominay is a player in the same mould as Keane. I'm not claiming he's as good, but he plays in a similar style.

We need money for our crazy and idiotic board to sign Neymar, while also getting rid of his wages. At best, we'll loan him out for free while the club that gets him pays his wages. Or, in the worst case for us, we keep him and use him in the hope he regains his previous form. Doesn't make any sense to pay someone to take Coutinho off our hands.

From all the reports, we'll get a fee for his loan, if it happens. It makes sense for Tottenham if Eriksen leaves as they wouldn't have to pay a fortune for his loan(around 15-20m pounds is my guess) and could also use the Eriksen money for one of Lo Celso/Fernandes.

I'm sure he looked really good at the start of last season? What happened with him?

He was involved in a pretty bad car crash in 2016, breaking his thigh bone and jaw. He has played 12 games in the last 3 seasons.
