Ole did mention I believe that United would look to replace any players we sell? Or am I mistaken. Maybe they see Dybala as a forward and not an addition to the Mata squad.

Rashford
Martial Fernandes Dybala
Pogba McTominay
Shaw Lindelof Maguire AWB
DDG

Where do we reckon that team is capable of finishing? There's not many holes in the first team, but the back ups are pretty terrible.

If it clicked? Top would be achievable.

We will not have that line up though. Woodward is in charge.

Is Woodward the manager ?

No, he's the guy that has sanctioned or blocked transfer targets under 4 consecutive managers which he appointed and led us to a jumbled squad of dreadful balance. Hes the guy who fails to get many targets over the line and will likely do this summer too.

Is Woodward the manager ?

How many times did Ole mentioned that he wanted players before preseason?

In how many pressers he keeps reiterating that he would like 2 more players?

When Ole was caretaker, who handed extensions to Rojo, Smalling and Jones?

You can't defend Woodward's failings when it comes to backing the manager

Except...

There is always a worry when taking a makeweight in a transfer deal. Will Dybala see it as a step down, like the concerns we've been having whenever Bale is spoken about. Hunger, drive, passion or lack thereof.

The one plus is that it's a Euros season. Anyone not playing well and getting their game time might not make the squads next summer.

Dybala is Argentinian

Yes James , Axel, Angel ,Mason and Chong are all terrible

I think he was meaning players such as Lingard, Mata, Young, Jones, Rojo etc rather than those youngsters

He knew full well I was on about those lot, that are more likely to start than the youngsters.

I hate this narrative that they don't want to spend. They have. Barring last summer, they have spent big money consistently.
I 100% respect your opinion but don't agree with it. They may have spent money before but it was wasted. I think the are reluctant to much spend due to this incase it happens again. If this is the case I think this further highlights the need for a DoF/technical director, which if bought in earlier wouldn't have resulted in us wasting millions in the first place. I think Woody thinks we have a good enough squad anyway, hence the reluctance to not spend what is needed in key areas of the squad. If/when we hire a DoF, the DoF and Ole would be able to work together on which areas of the team we need to improve in and find the players who fit the profile of players we need for these areas then all Woody would have to do is work on getting these players in, negotiating their contracts and then he can concentrate on the commercial aspects which he is good at. I believe that Woody has so much faith in his own football knowledge that he is unwilling to take the advice of people who know more about football than him.

I am pretty sure we tried, but Dybala said he wants CL. So Spurs it is.

Spurs have had a similar window to us. Ndombele plus a young championship prospect yet I keep seeing people talk about how spurs mean business or are opening a gap on us. They also look likely to lose their best player. Perhaps they'll do more but so far a poor window for both

Inter Milan have offloaded Miranda today, probably clearing the way for Lukaku bid to reach our price. Lukaku already off to seal a deal to Italy. Whether to Juve or Inter Milan remains the question. Probably why Bruno hasn't been sealed yet, as Dybala just became an option, which might signify Dybala being 1st choice over Bruno.

Real Madrid offloaded Bale and Ceballos, and will now make an official bid for Pogba, who we have already lined up Savic to replace. Remember Ole said anyone who goes will be replaced. So in comes Savic, Bruno or Dybala, plus Moussa Dembele or Ben Yedder.

I still would prefer Bruno over Dybala, for the set piece skill, and think he would ve a better fit. Will be a busy week.
That is one hell of an over active imagination right there.

But they've not needed to have a great window due to having a strong squad already? Not sure why so many people want to compare our lack of activity with our rivals, most of them simply don't need to do a lot, we bloody do and we've dropped the ball again.

just waking up to the Lukaku for Dybala rumors, I haven't laughed as much since Gerrard slipped, if you think this is going to happen, give your head a wobble! Player swaps are worse than transfers and aren't the easiest to pull off

No of course and I've no real will to compare, I'm talking specifically about those who have been quick to praise spurs or envy their window which has so far been just OK.

I'd agree their window specifically hasn't been anything special thus far, certainly not envy worthy, unless they pull something big out in the last few weeks. Would have loved Ndombele though.

Bruno Fernandes is preparing to fly to the UK to undergo a Manchester United medical, according to reports in Italy.

Corriere dello Sport claim the Red Devils have agreed a £63m fee with Sporting Lisbon to land the free-scoring playmaker.

Wonder if the Glazers are now using the NHS rather than private healthcare and he’s now on a waiting list for a medical...

Well he did also say when asked about replacing Herrera that we have McTomminay and Perreira to plug that gap, so I take it all with a pinch of salt.

Although I would really like this to happen I think its a load of crap as its the Mirror quoting Corriere dello Sport.

Preparing to fly. He's at home now rolling his socks up into little balls and pushing them into his shoes to save packing space, and then going to his kitchen to dig out a clear plastic bag for toiletries. there's either a medical or not and if so when is it. These stories are transparent bullshit

Newspapers really are an odd thing arent they?

They've literally spewed the same crap about Fernandes for 6 weeks now, but they never get held accountable when they're just clearly making stuff up. He's signed for us 8 times in the last few weeks. God knows how many medicals he's had!

They even framed his picture travelling, en-route, somewhere behind the wheel of a car: "Is the midfielder Carrington bound, all set for his pending medical?" Oh course he fecking isn't.

Hmmm...looks like L'Equipe were correct for a change.
Possibly. I just don't understand though - they've been struggling all window with the likes of Tierney and Zaha and now they want to pay €80m for Pepe.

Something not right there in my opinion.
