Paul Pogba is Real Madrid's primary target this summer and Los Blancos are eager to include Gareth Bale in a deal to sign the Frenchman from Manchester United.
Zinedine Zidane has made clear that his compatriot would be ideal for his team's midfield, but the Red Devils are not willing to negotiate his transfer.
Pogba's agent, Mino Raiola, has twice travelled to Manchester to communicate his client's intention to depart England, while Madrid's directors have also tried to reach the Premier League club's board who have refuse to enter into talks.

Hah! Knew it.

We don’t want Bale and Bale won’t come, Madrid will cough up in the end , I think he’ll go

Surely we won't be doing a 90M transfer for Maguire. There is no upside to it at all even if we get top 4, there is no way we can recoup that. Likely we will settle it for 70M or walkaway .

Van Dijk is better in every department, how is it comparable? Especially when Leicester want such an insane amount of money.
The best defender in the world is better than Maguire - who is surprised?

Maguire is still very good and would improve us tenfold.

2nd September. Good luck with that Madrid. We won’t be selling after the English window closes on 8th August.

We shouldn't go near Maguire at anything over 70, hell even 70 is madness. You have to realise that paying over the odds for players like him is going to have a knock on effect for all our other transfers. What happens when we want to buy the next big thing in midfield? "Well you paid 90million for a central defender, so this guy is gonna cost you £150mil baseline, then we'll talk about add ons". We need to start being more ruthless and getting players to kick up a fuss if they want to leave and the club refuse to sell when we're already paying way over the odds. This is what happens when you have Ed "big dick" Woodward telling all and sundry that we can spend what we want blah blah blah.

Huge money for a centre back that many think is far too much. It's comparable even though you might not think they're the same level.
So you think £90 million is sensible? Would you like it if Chelsea paid such an amount for Maguire? I'd rather go for some young CB that is a dominating force in the air and won't cost a fortune.

Or they are building it up for the next year. Generally how they operate with high profile transfers.

It’s obviously comparable in that the fee and age of the player is very similar. VVD wasn’t considered the best in the world or even close to it before moving to Liverpool. In many ways Maguires reputation is higher than VVD when he moved.

More chance of Christmas day coming tomorrow than us bidding 90m for him

I didn't think £75m for VVD was sensible but that turned out ok. I didn't think whatever we paid for Kepa was sensible but I'm very happy with him. I thought getting Higuian in on loan was sensible but that ended up dogshit.

If Ole has picked his man, the club should back him. You can afford it, easily.

Would like to see Tuanzebe given a chance, I believe with a season of Prem football under his belt he could be on the fringes of the England set up. I like Macguire, but I too think that £70 is far too much, but I also think Leicester will turn that down, if we go higher then we are truly bonkers. We should be highlighting the three, four, five players we are interested in, put in reasonable (not stupid) bids, then negotiate, it appears as though we are chasing everyone who becomes available (I know most of it is media talk), but by now we should be making two, three, four bids, not one at a time, surely we have more than one negotiator who can do the ground work before the main man seals any deal

Yes wouldn’t surprise me , they certainly have history with those tactics, convinced it’ll be this summer though

I don't think we have ever really been that interested in him, and I'm 99.9% he won't be playing for us next season, i think there's more chance of a McTomaney, Pogba Longstaff midfield

Not fussed about Fernandes, but if we go for Longstaff and Maguire then it’s massively underwhelming. We’ll have spent a fortune for a scrap for 5th. This obsession with British players is just odd.

The problem is that we don't have the luxury of a comfortable league status or an abundance of good players to afford bedding in youth especially at CB which is a key area where we are lacking.
Even if Tuanzebe makes a bright start , the kid would be crucified for the mistakes he makes , since the expectation is too high and fans will be quick to jump to the conclusion that he isn't good enough .
Rashford is in a similar position right now , if we had a team that had good players in forward positions , the burden of expectation would have been much less for him. We have had too many instances of being thrown into the deep end not working for young players.

Pini Zahavi's time is almost up. He's no longer the man that can make the impossible possible. Failed to get big Lewy out of Munich to his dream employer Real last season. And now Pini's going to fail again with Neymar.

Where's Ari Gold when you need him :D

That's what Ole and the board want, think they reckon the team of the 90s and 2000s will happen all over again because we have British players, sadly they are wrong

I understand wanting players who are ‘committed’ and won’t leave for Spain if the going gets tough, but unless you’re going for players at the very highest level it’s pointless. It’s easier to keep players in a successful team and there isn’t many of those who focus on homegrown players.

Count how many British players you expect to start for us next season and count how many Ole or even this board have bought.

The club is willing to listen to offers for the French defender but want to bank at least €50m

Can see that happening I'd rather go for him than Maguire, he's only had injury problems last season.
