We would still need some degree of experience which none of the usual suspects we are constantly linked with, would have - but Kroos and his many CLs obviously would.
Zlatan aside, it's been a fine line between experienced and past-it / unmotivated these past few years, so I'm really wary of another big name to be honest. I get what you're saying about experience though. Maybe someone like Saul would be a better bet if we're looking for that?

I wouldn't want any of Madrid's players involved in a swap concerning Pogba.
It's highly likely the players involved would see United as a step down on and off the field and we simply cant have that attitude present at the club.

Would rather sell him to Juve then Madrid if he's hell bent on leaving. Those cnuts will try to include their fringe players like Bale and Lorente and offer some 100 million on top of that. At least from Juve, we can get someone like Cancelo plus 100 mill, a top quality player plus some money will soften the blow a bit

This, we saw what happened with Di Maria who didn't even want to leave Madrid, though I wouldn't put it past Ed with his awful negotiation ability to accept something silly like 70 million plus navas and kroos.

Getting a second James wouldn't be too bad either IMO.

I do love the fact united are playing hard ball for a change. For so many years united always got mugged off.

Don't care if the club might have briefed the press stating as far as their concerned pogba will be at club next sesson. I as a fan don't want him at the club. Shite he has come out with today. Supporting a team where are players don't want to be there. Get rid quickly.

My sentiments exactly. We need the right bid, though.

Youri is going to sign for Leicester and do very well under Rodgers next year following which we offer 65mill.

If memory serves me right, Maguire and Robertson left Hull city for Leicester and Pool at the same time. Liverpool didn't wait for another midtable club to sign Robertson and his value to rise before making their move. They identified potential and nurtured it. We need to do the same. A player of Tielemans who has potential will need time and we should give him that time to develop at our club. If Ole wants to go back to developing players, Tielemans is the type of CM signing we should be looking at.

At this price point and age, its a no brainer.

These tactics from Lukaku and Pogba tells you everything. Raiola gets them to express their desire to leave publicly in hope that we comply. Problem is, they’re on lengthy contracts so if we don’t get a good offer we won’t sell.
both Pogba and Lukaku seem pretty thick to me, going public to try and push a move but they are forgetting we are holding all the cards.yes we want rid now but like you said if we don’t get the money then they can do one. Nice to be in this position for once.

I’ve seen James Pearce post similar tweets about Liverpool & Coutinho/Suarez/Sterling. If the player wants out then more often than not the club sells. It might not be this during this window but it’ll happen eventually.

It’s how a club responds to that which is important. We didn’t respond well to Suarez leaving, but we did invest Coutinho’s money well.

United should cash in and look to reinvest Pogba’s wages on players Solskjaer thinks he can use towards his style of play.

Don’t appoint a mid table manager if you don’t want a mid table side.

All of our best players wanting out and seemingly unable to attract any top class players.

Who would you have realistically appointed if iit was up to you?

I hope the Glazers are proud. They’ve completely fecking destroyed us.

History is littered with teams selling their best individual player and buying a group of players to replace with the money they get to then form a cohesive unit and play much better.

Since SAF left there's been no sense whatsoever that we're a team. The famous last minute victories and all the success SAF had were because he had a team of players willing to die for the shirt and for him. Sure we had individuals of amazing quality but they were the icing on the cake and not the sole reason for why we won so much.

The last three seasons especially we've been a 'moments' club whereby individual players create something out of nothing to win us a game otherwise we don't win.

We need to be more of a team again. I hope the plan is that we sell Pogba for shitloads and spend that cash wisely on a team of young, hungry talented players that could all become superstars rather than being reliant on one superstar with an ego complex like Pogba has.

We need a team of players that want to fight for every ball and work together to create things.

For as much as City have wonderfully talented individuals, their entire playing style is built around the entire team doing their jobs together and it works so well because they're all drilled and disciplined enough to believe everyone else is going to follow suit.

No more individuals and nothing else. United need a team once more. Bye bye Paul, enjoy stinking up the Bernabeu and getting jeered because they'll never appreciate you if they didn't appreciate Ronaldo, you're not half the player he is.

On the United shop you can no longer get Pogba on the back as an option. He is also not on any of the front page banners that I have seen and his only merchant is from last yrs kits. He'll be gone.

I can select Pogba, he is even listed on "Best selling heroes" first name.

Don’t think we hold all the cards. Both players have underperformed for the most part. RM has long been running their propaganda for Pogba and now the player has publicly stated what he wants while we have stated he’s not for sale which is just saving face in reality. We’ll have to do a deal since telling RM to do one and forcing Pogba to stay will not be an option. Pogba is being a twat by coming out like that. He could have kept his mouth shut and let the clubs hash it out and got what he wants. Hope we stand firm on our asking price but not at the expense of keeping an unhappy player. If Pogba’s playing attitude can get worse than what we’ve already experienced, we’d be foolish to keep him.

With Lukaku, I don’t think Inter would ever fork out what Ed wants back on him. I’d be delighted if we sold him for 50-60m.

I’d risk getting jeered by fans at Madrid for the chance at highest level club honours. Much more attractive than whatever it is United can offer at this point in time. Imagine passing up on that chance just to stay here struggling for 4th league place with an unproven manager and squad that severely lacks in quality. Madrid bought Jovic and Mendy already. the most recognisable traits of some of the players we are being linked with is “British and hungry”.

Don't forget Hazard as well.

Ole has talked about wanting a high press system.

I think a midfield unit which is suited to that style will ultimately be a net positive. Supporting the manager's vision will get United more than indulging an individual player's flights of fancy.

Interesting point but we were 6th with Jose and looked like another 6th with jose before he got the sack.

That is being generous. Before Mourinho was sacked, we were heading towards the 7th-12th battle. We only finished as high as sixth because we were third in the table for points since Ole joined.

We have a great opportunity to get a limited player like Lukaku off our hands for a good price. No other club is stupid enough to be desperate for him.

Yes Inter were dicks when we approached them for Perisic but he was an important player for them and they were not desperate to get rid of him. Ole has a hard on for Rashy and Lukaku aint an important part of his plans neither he is good enough.

All those who say they don't have problems with Lukaku staying will smash the Lukaku thread to smithereens with their 'first touch', 'limited player', 'never a utd forward' bs.

I've never posted any of that shite about Lukaku, i think he's a good player who probably doesn't suit us anymore. But he should only be sold if the team who wants him coughs up the clubs asking price. Especially if that team is the same one who acted like dicks just a year ago and vastly overpriced one of their players who they were clearly open to selling when United came calling.

70-80m is a fair price for Rom in today’s market. If they can’t afford that well tough shit.

Jose had a line of easy games that Ole walked into and leveraged from.

Sure Jose himself was struggling against easier sides but so did Ole. We actually looked far worse in our downturn under Ole than we did Jose.

If the club finds itself with no option but to grant Pogba his move away from this club then I would much rather we sell him back to Juve just to spite Madrid even if it means at a slightly lower valuation.

Good riddance I say. Hasnt justified the money paid for him. I remember our record transfer fees signing the likes of Bryan Robson and Roy Keane. He may be our most talented player but performing at a world class level in 10% of the games and probably being average to poor in 40% of them added to the circus follows him with social media and his agent, for anything over £100m why would anybody be worried about him leaving?
He may have a lot of talent and ability....so did Anderson and take away the 10% of games Pogba has excelled in, has he actually been that much better than Anderson, who at least genuinely loved the club

I agree it is far better to get rid of them, but I’m coming from the perspective that the buying club knows they have longer contracts than a year so we can demand what we ask for.

Don’t get me wrong, I want Pogba gone more than anyone now but we shouldn’t sell him at a reduced price because he wants gone. There is no reason that a public display from him should effect the price we have originally set, if we stick to £150m (or whatever it is) then it’s not us going to be getting sweaty when it comes to the end of the window, his value will still be there the following window.

Believe if Mourinho finds himself at another big/rich club this summer, there will still be an abundance of top quality players interested in playing under Mourinho compared to Solskjear because they know from past experience that Mourinho has the potential to win top honours when he gets it right, what's Ole's potential, a good two month honeymoon period at United and a couple of league wins in a minnow league.

You know this club is going backward when the likes of Lukaku, Pogba, and De Gea are going to be sold but we hold on to dross who belong in the lower half of the table.

For me of they all leave only DeGea justifies being remembered by the fans. ALthough there has been the fax machine etc, he has been here for a fair portion of his career, mainly during troubled times at the club and progressed to being world class for the vast majority of it.
Lukaku has a decent goals record but has never looked a United player, and Pogba has only fleetingly been impressive....what is it three years he has been at the club, percentage wise from his performances he has barely put in more top top performances than DiMaria did durign his time here who was pilloried and he hasnt shown anymore loyalty either. Apart from selling merchandise, if it is invested properly both players are worth far more in terms of possible transfer fees than they have been as players here. If that £200m is added to whatever we have to spend and the right players are bought |I think we would be far better off than keeping unhappy, average performing players

Just thinking about a good dm to go for. I've been looking at Ibrahim Sangaré of Toulouse. He's only 21 and he's right up there with the top tackles and interceptions in Europe this season. I found an article from 2 days ago mentioning interest from Everton.

https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.da...louse-name-price-ibrahim-sangare-16431043.amp

They suggest a price of £22m which from the small amount I have seen of him looks like it could be an absolute bargain. I feel like these are the type of players we should be going for rather than going after someone like Diop for more than double the price we could have paid for him 1 year earlier.

Any Ligue 1 watchers seen more of Sangaré and think he could be a good option?
