I think he cost them about €5m so they'll be singing and dancing about this one.
I bet they were banking on us sticking £100m on the table. Not from us!
How is Madrid spending so.much money and get free pass with FFP? Same goes for Barcelona
Are the Spanish teams controlling Uefa?
I am talking about how quick they do their business. They rarely wait until last seconds. That is the president who knows what he wants and who knows how to do it.Maybe because, and bear with me here, as we're on a Man United forums, we hear an awe full lot more about United News...
Plus we don’t have the benefit of Marca, a paper completely dedicated to being our propaganda machine.
Yes, me to. So happy, was afraid Ed will go mad, but I guess Ole gave him a hairdryer. I wish Gareth best of the rest of his career in Madrid. Playing GolfI bet they were banking on us sticking £100m on the table.
So glad we're going no where near this one!
Madrid surely can't have any money left this summer unless they sell?
And now surely they have to sell Bale and James at least, but who's going to take them knowing Madrid are desperate to get them off the books?
But that's close to €1b spent this window alone. And those players weren't playing for free. Their wage budget would have been huge and probably still is.People forget that they've not spent on players for a few good years now while winning 3 CL in a row (whatever prize money that entails) in addition to selling Morata and Ronaldo. They're a well run club.
I think that’s why Griezmann is probably confirmed now, as they’ve lost out on De Ligt.Have Barcelona got the money for De Ligt after this?
€87m spent so far, Griezmann will most likely be €100m, De Ligt would be another €75m.
They'd have to sell right? Their wage expenditure is 80% of the clubs turnover.
They are obviously not paying all stadium costs at once, they will do it in some years or it's possible they have saved up because they were relatively quiet the last few years. Also having owners who don't leech the club helps. But that's close to €1b spent this window alone. And those players weren't playing for free. Transfers work in the same way though, they pay them off over seasons and not one go. We'll see anyway, I'm expecting them to move a couple of players now before they make a move for someone like Pogba. They are obviously not paying all stadium costs at once, they will do it in some years or it's possible they have saved up because they were relatively quiet the last few years. Clubs that are listed on the stock exchange have to afaik. Not sure if OL are though...Do clubs normally confirm the price?

I don't think the market works like that though.Rakitic, Coutinho, Dembele, Malcom, Umtiti, Cillessen all reportedly up for sale. I imagine they'll get a couple of bites.

Big teams pay big transfers and salaries, small teams won't dare fork out £50m plus on players that don't want to leave Barcelona. Big teams will ony if desperate.
I think the days of seeing Maradona's join Napoli's or Ravinelli's join Middlesbrough's are gone.
I´m not sure either, but I honestly do not care about the FFP. If they want to go over the limit, they should do it, and if they punish us without signing(I think they won´t do it again), I do not care either.Really impressed by how quickly Real have completed all their transfers so far. Acting with decisiveness and urgency after a disappointing season. Although not sure how they have the money left to also bid for Pogba. If they need to sell to comply with FFP, it probably puts them in a weak negotiating position with player sales.
Do you understand that the last galactico player prior to this season has been James Rodrigues for 75m Euros in 2014? Even then, we financed his purchase by paying up 75m Euros for Di Maria, so overall their spend in 14/15 was 13mill Euros. Here's the breakdown of the following years:
So over the last 5 years, they have spent net 21.5mm EUROS or 4.3mm per season. This is fantastic team management, considering they won 3 straight CL (and as a result earned a ton of prize money from UEFA, FIFA, TV rights and sponsors).
- 15/16 - they spent 75mm EUR
- 16/17 - they earned 7.5mm EUR
- 17/18 - they earned 88mm EUR (thanks to Morata and Danilo)
- 18/19 - they spent 29mm EUR
Wages are wages, everybody pays them - and I bet they pay less than us overall. I think if Pogba ends up there he will have to take a major pay-cut (which is part of the reason Paul's camp hasn't been much more vocal about the move in the first place).
And where did the 1Bn Euros come from exactly?
Who gives a monkey's toss?Who are we beating to this signing, Everton?
As in big players going for big money. It's a sellers market unless you're having to sell your players, then it's very much a buyers market. Which is where Barcelona find themselves.Works like what? If those players are all up for sale, Barca will undoubtedly sell some of them (and big clubs will be interested).
They have a large wage bill, but also have the second largest revenues in football (behind Madrid) and plenty of saleable players.
You are welcomeThanks for letting everyone know, I think this is a game changer!!!
Fecking Spanish clubs man. Thats how its done.
They need to sell big now, or they might be in shitloads of trouble. That’s not very good business?

I'm sure they'll sell a few but they won't get huge cash for someone like Coutinho because he just isn't worth the risk to most teams.
