Agree, he's delusional.

Hasn't worked out for him here, partly Jose's fault for deploying him as a target man and partly his own for his bizarre 'transformation' last summer.

He doesn't deserve a move but we should facilitate it, especially after those quotes.

Lukaku can go but I cant see any serie A team giving us 70m

The more terrifying question is, are we going to replace him?

Rashford and Martial for a full Premier League, Europa League run?? feck me we are in trouble. :nervous:

This lad has more delusions of grandeur than a Spurs fan. He has the touch of a spoon trying to catch water from a tap but talks about his "decision" in the same breath as mentioning Cristiano Ronaldo.

Can't help but admire his self confidence.

Lukaku: "Conte is the best coach in the world for me, I love Italy, it will be an exciting Serie A with CR7, Sarri, Ancelotti, future? I have already made a decision"

He'll do well there in the Italian league. Inter could be a force soon with Conte at the helm. However he's not the right starting number 9 for us. We need a far more well rounded striker than him upfront in this league if we are to play the kind of football we aspire to. Or we need to go with a pair if we can't get the full package in one forward.

Most likely off to Barca or PSG but I'd be happy if we can get him.

I should be careful for wanting a professional player at united who can control a ball, pass, link up, run with ball and score?.............Am I expecting too much here?

No. But we might get nobody as replacement either! What happens if we sell De Gea, Pogba and Lukaku, and replace them with youth, not necessarily wonder kids either? Just the type Leicester would sign! Would you be happy?

Wow, are those quotes confirmed as genuine? Shocking thing to say at this stage if they are.

That's way too blunt for my liking, I will pretend that they are fake. Otherwise it's arguably the worst quote I have read in my life, the slave quote was respectful compared to that.

Its not fake. Pedulla also reported it using Sportsmediaset as source.

Pretty crazy a year ago most thought this is a great spine to a team and now all three may be gone in one summer

Go full muppet and replace him with Griezmann. Snatch De Ligt from them too and sign Rabiot, AwB and Bruno. Ok time to wake up, dang it.

That's why I said pretend, I know that the lad is delusional but it's at a point where he is probably the footballer that I respect the least. Funnily enough, people were celebrating when he left Raiola but then he proceeded by actually acting like a twat in the press.

Seems to me you've made up a scenario in your head and now going from there.

Where did you get this info about replacing those 3 with youth? We've been linked with Bruno, Rabiot, Oblak, Ajax keeper, Frankfurt striker etc. << None of them are youth.

i won't go crazy hyperbole, but part of me wonders if we could genuinely see the end of De Gea, Lukaku, Pogba and basically no like-for-like replacements. After this lukaku story, i'm starting to wonder if the Bruno rumours are because Pogba is leaving :nervous:

Is Ole going full nuclear?

If anybody needs shipping out first, it's our entire CB collection, Sanchez, Young, Matic then Lukaku

Yeah, I missed 'pretend' in your post.

Yeah, its too blunt. Maybe deal is really close, that's the reason he said it. Hopefully we get good money and then sign a better player who suits how we want to play.

He is saying that he is not sure he will get the move he wants?

Yes. He wants to go to Barcelona and has reportedly agreed terms. The problem (at least according to Duncan Castles) is the fee.

Griezmann's release clause currently stands at €200m. This will drop to €120m later in the window. Atletico are demanding the full €200m for any Barca deal because they say the club reached the agreement with Griezmann prior to the reduction in value of the clause.

This is presumably why he is now having to consider options outside La Liga.

Linked by who though? The media? We were linked with Rice, Pepe and De ligt too, what happened there? Rabiot will stay as Leonardo has gone back. Oblak is inferior to De Gea. Bruno we might get, but that not enough if we sell the mentioned 3 players!
The scenario I've made up in my head is most probably what will happen! That's what happens if you don't have a CL place and make a knee-jerk managerial decision!

looks like we need to be all over that after the Rom bombshell. Whose currently/openly looking for a move that's an instant upgrade? Also might help Griezmann to get away from Spain after his flip flopping

How else is anyone suppose to know which players we've been linked with other than media? Where have we been linked to youth to replace the likes of De gea,Pogba,Lukaku? ....Nowhere other than your own imagination.

Somehow I trust Media links than whats inside your head, You know its a safer option.

......Ok.

He's not getting "shipped" out, though. He's an asset that can bring in a massive fee, and if he's not in the managers plans you cash in now before we devalue you even more. Its harder selling the likes of Young, Rojo, Darmian etc. Who wants that lot?

We are one of the few clubs who might be willing to meet his wage demands (reportedly £350k per week net).

I would guess that PSG would be favourites, though.

“Conte knows what I think about him. You know I’m not somebody who likes to talk about my personal relationship with managers, but I’m a Manchester United player,” the 26-year-old said.

“I have a contract and I have to respect my club. If something happens, you know, I think the teams and my agents have to do the talking. I just make my decision and stay out of it.”

“I was always a big fan of the Italian league. People close to me, they know I have two leagues that I always dreamed about, which is the Premier League and the Serie A, so you know, I love Italy,” he stressed.

“With the transfer of Ronaldo, the Italian league is now coming back. Now Antonio Conte going back to Inter, which is really good because, to me he’s the best manager in the world, and then you have Maurizio Sarri going to Juventus, Ancelotti at Naples. I think Serie A will be really exciting next year and I’m really happy for Italian football,” he added.

I fully trust sportswitness translations, he's 100% gone.

Ed and Ole have a tough job on their hands. Our top players are clearly on their way out this year or next. Top players across Europe want to play with other top players, but they know ours are leaving.

So I guess their objective is to buy potential and build top players...but Ole doesn't seem the wisest choice for that objective if you consider his CV.

Kind of feels like we never had a pray. He wants CL football, now it all about the best offer. Both teams can guarantee him that for easily the next 5 years if not longer. We are likely aiming to hold 6th next season. Whilst i always hoped he would want to join a project and build a club around him, he's making a sensible career move avoiding us in this state.
If he joins PSG then it is not at all a sensible career move. Yes they might dominate the league but it hardly is an achievement. Yes Man united are in a mess but he could have taken that as a challenge. Become a leader and bring back the club where it belongs. But again I don't blame him not choosing us.

He also said this.

"As for my future, I have already made a decision that I still cannot communicate publicly out of respect for Manchester United with whom I have a contract "

"My future? I have a contract with Manchester United, it's up to them to decide. I'll talk to the club and my agent to make the best decision, but in any case I am sure it will be a busy summer "

The man is done here. Get him out right now.

Guess we will see in 2 months time when we have had a Moyesesque type transfer window!

# ManchesterUnited , # Lukaku gives a nod to the # SerieA : " # CristianoRonaldo , # Conte , # Ancelotti and perhaps also # Sarri : it is a beautiful championship, who knows me knows how much I would like to play"

The Manchester United striker also reveals a background of when Conte was the coach of uventus: "I was one step away from Juventus, but then I didn't hear it, I smelled something wrong. And, in fact, two days later my no Conte has left the Bianconeri. Thank God I did not go ".

He's full conte mode.

“I have a contract and I have to respect my club. If something happens, you know, I think the teams and my agents have to do the talking. I just make my decision and stay out of it.” - Lukaku...talking about it.

You are under contract. It is up to us, not you matey.

It's alright, we don't mind that. i think that every united supporter would take him on foot to italy.

For the price we paid for him, he's nowhere near good enough.

The simple fact that he can't win a header if his life depended on it and with his body says it all. that's without talking about his extremely bad first touch.

Let's let him be another team's problem.

If anybody needs shipping out first, it's our entire CB collection, Sanchez, Young, Matic then Lukaku

Whilst I agree I think it's clear that Rashford is favourite if fit. If that is the case it is stupid to leave a £75m striker on the bench who hasn't really performed since his early form. Get rid and strengthen the team elsewhere... but that's the issue, it's whether we do that.

Perhaps Lukaku is aware of the rather large fee we are demanding for his transfer, so he is coming out in the press with quotes like this to help reduce it by basically saying he wants out?

Or I'm just reading too much into it.
