You should do comedy mate, you are wasted on here.

Clearly its Oles idea that Carlton wants to go back to Juve, clearly.

I'm just frustrated about the club going forward. Humour (or attempted) tends to be my defence but I agree Ole would not happily want to lose Pogba unless he has a top class replacement.

Carlton Palmer I'm guessing  is definitely wanting to jump ship and however we feel about him as fans it will surely be another negative for the club with our highest profile player wanting out.

6 non-penalty goals and 9 assists all season. Maddison made a bigger contribution per 90 minutes for Leicester.

6 non penalty goals and 9 assists is better than most of Paul Scholes seasons and he played with far better players.

Maddison plays further forward as well.

Why not ? Give me a reason why they won't.
I don’t believe they have the funds we would demand. Simple as. I could be wrong, but I don’t think they have. And don’t cite Ronaldo as evidence....he’s very much a special case

Is that all the news Di Marzio had on us?

Given the amount we need to do, I was hoping for something positive!

They have. They're a very rich club.

Pogba played further forward as well, just wasn't very good at it.

You think we won't replace Pogba if he goes?

It's worse than that, when Pogba lost form we stopped winning games. Solskjaer has shown as massive lack of tactical nous to make use of our midfield without Paul in the center.

I'd have more confidence if we a had more competent manager in charge but I've seen nothing of Solskjaer tactically with Pogba to suggest he can adequately replace him. We can throw a million different surnames Pjanic, Isco, Ndombele, Eriksen but it's more important to visualise how Ole makes use of them vs who they are.

Pogba wasn't the only player losing form. Our entire team stopped playing. Matic even looked a different player for 2 months under Ole, so did Rashford and others.

I guess it's subjective to how we all each individually read the teams performances but I've stated many times on this forum under our winning run, that much of the performances we rode our luck.

To me personally when we started losing games I don't think we dropped a level as a team we couldn't create / finish chances because Pogba started getting marked and Ole dropped him deeper. We then had to rely on the likes of Rashford etc to come up with the goods and they fell short.

The stats show we created a lot less under Ole even when we were winning. We were simply ruthless. But the massive dip in form isn't down to Pogba. It's down to the entire team not performing along with him.

I said positive contribution which is goals, creative play and involvement collectively.

What does it matter about Maddison, we don't have a "Maddison" in our squad which is the whole point. How can we expect the midfield to build when we are going from a world cup winner to Fred, Pereira and Matic.

It's a travesty
Pogba doesn't exist in a vacuum.

United tried to build their midfield around a world record breaking transfer. And yet he hasn't been able to deliver on that outlay. He's a big part of the reason why the rest of our options in midfield are as they are (all defensive first and foremost). How many times have you read things here like "such and such a player won't work with Pogba" or "we need to buy in order to free Pogba"?

Pointing out that the rest of the midfield lacks creativity is accurate. But it's also a consequence of United putting all our eggs in the Pogba basket and then him dropping it.

Yes I agree mostly with this, I just think this is the worst set of circumstances to lose a player of Pogba's calibre no one is certain as to what Ole wants to do tactically, we have useless fart hierarchy who could butcher the identification of correct targets and the targets themselves must be somewhat limited due to a lack of top 4.

I certainly agree that Pogba has not been good enough throughout the majority of his tenure my issue is we have a midfield that is surrounded by dross.

Exactly what happened. It wasn't a fitness issue at all. As you say, Pogba got man marked, in the PSG game, and the games v Wolves. Ole bizzarly then came out and said we needed to play him deeper! We lost that link between midfield and attack after that. And more importantly, Pogba in the opposition box. Pogba is our best player by far, if played in his proper position. Matic needs to be the one shipped out!

Be interesting to see where Gomes ends up next season.
I saw abit of him last season and he's one of those players who if they're having a initial good 10 minutes then he will go on to have a decent game.Though if he has a few wretched minutes he tends to continue that trend throughout the match.

Though I must reiterate, when he is on his game he's quite a stylish player to watch.
Can imagine him doing well under Poch for example,if Spurs show any interest ofcourse.

Fantastic young player very similar in style to Pogba. Inter have signed a gem.

Pogba played further forward as well, just wasn't very good at it.
I remember in his last couple of games he specifically stayed way away from the box as if he didn't want any responsibility in attacking. Always about 20-30 yards out no matter what. I just kept saying move forward a lot. Seemed like he was just going through the motions. Try and create a chance or pass it off but rarely attempted to be a threat.

So you're implicitly blaming Pogba for the reason why we got Matic? This is one of the biggest narratives in this forum, yet makes no sense once you actually think about it. How is somebody as slow as Matic, supposed to be a compliment to Pogba? He neither has the passing skill, nor the defensive skill to compliment Pogba.

Has nothing to do with unlocking btw. Everything to do with just trying to form a complete midfield so the whole side benefits.

He's considered one of the biggest talents in French football.
I've watched a couple of his matches on youtube as they're streamed on there. The kid has great technique like a former #10 type technique. Doesn't really have pace or energy, so a bit like Pogba in that area. Haven't really seen anything special in regards to vision or attacking ability. I would say his most impressive feature is his composure. As a midfielder, him growing physically and mentally can change everything.

I'll trust the reputation for now, but I need to see more before I get truly excited over him. Only player I'm excited over is Rayan Cherki. Doubt we get him as I read that Zidane is after him too, but we'll see.
