Yeah I just saw a post about that from someone who lives in Birmingham so hears these things apparently
Because them loaning and developing Januzaj for us worked out so well...
2 years left on a 20m a year deal. If they pay 10m and pay him half that money, subsidising the other half would save us 30m over the next two years. I could see something like that happening if they really want him. They've also got room to work with in that he'll pay less tax in Italy.

What does chances mean because every stat I have seen has him much higher than 16. He also plays for a far worse team than havertz.

Playing for a worse team goes both ways as far as non-assist stats go.
You can ball hog as much as you want, take every setpiece and so on to pad up your absolute stats as an attacking midfielder.
He will probably at least double his wage (from 70 to 140 seems feasible enough considering what we already managed to clear out). The extention offer seems to be under that so money would be in our favour. If we get EL through the FA Cup i can see the negotiation ending up very close to that release clause. If we lose this weekend, i think he'll probably stay put unless an other english club drops a $ bag.
From all I’ve read, Grealish created about 2.7 chances per 90 vs 2.4 for Havertz. Grealish also plays in a league with far better teams ergo better defenses than the BuLi (also apparent just seeing the games). Moreover, he’s “PL proven” which (as a club we have bitter experience of this) does count for a fair bit.
I’m not saying Grealish will definitely be better but we’re trying to boost depth and Grealish is a ready article for about 50 Min whereas Havertz could well take time to settle and would cost a heck of a lot more.
Note that everyone has been saying 80 Mn would price Grealish out of a move and no fan I’ve seen has jumped up to say, “No! Pay what it takes” - and that’s the price Chelsea are happily paying for Havertz. So I’m not certain what you’re upset about.
No one has said they’d want him for that much money. The majority have even called 50 a bit too much, so no, I don’t think a lot of our fan base would justify that. Maguire has been one of the better defenders in the prem this season and every united fan is aware that we paid too much.

Higuain was their top player and they were chasing Juve at the time. That was understandable. Don't like them, but when it is about money, i think they realise that at some point it is a business and you sometimes do business with your enemies.

I actually think Leicester would want him more than Spurs. Spurs already have a few wingers and left wing is technically reserved for Son. But Zaha would be an upgrade on all the wingers Leicester have. He could even play centrally in place of Iheanacho/Perez, behind the striker.
As for resale value, if he has a couple decent seasons, I’m sure it’ll at least remain the same. Good, and might even increase higher than 40.
