Certainly seems to be heavily infected with ABU. From the same school of though as Oliver Holt it seems.

Sadly he's meant to be the allocated specialist for Manchester United news from the Times no?

I knew that "exploit" would be used without the context in those sorts of headlines when I was listening to the interview
I'd take that a step further, not only was it out of context, but Ole even said "exploit" wasn't the proper word to use, even though he repeated it.

I will have to disagree, though. "Exploit" absolutely was the proper word. And I have no problem with it.

Signing Ighalo on a permanent is much better business than bringing in someone like Dembele. As far as i’m concerned, it’s a matter of when not if in regards to Greenwood taking over the number 9 spot from Martial, so a stop gap back up striker like Ighalo makes sense for a few years while Greenwood is still learning/filling out his frame.

Dembele looks great in the French league. His lack of goals in the Champs League is the real question mark on his quality. Still, he is 23 so he could get better. Seems like a gamble though

Really don't get spending a chunk of money on Dembele at the moment. If we're going to get a striker, it would need to be a super young talent, or someone a bit older with experience but a very likely hit for us.

Agreed. Even if we do end up going for someone younger, Dembele would be a horrible choice for me.

Edouard / Martinez would be more like it.

According to Fabrizio Romano, whos usually very reliable, Juventus' number one target for this summer is Pogba.

Someone needs to ask him what sort of figure we are talking about for Pogba or will any Juventus players be involved in the deal at all

No English club wanted Kane anyway, at least not for the ridiculous amount required for his signature.

Agreed. He has a better chance of finding a club of his choice after running down his contract. No ones going to pay a stupid sum for him.

Obviously someone has piled money on Sancho to Utd on Bet Victor. Their odds are 1/3 (1.33) whereas 888 Sport & Unibet are only 9/4 (2.75)

They didn't have any intention of selling Carrick, Berbatov or Kane either until they did. Personally I'd rather we spunk our budget on Grealish, Sancho and Jude Bellingham if we're going down the Brexit FC route anyway.

So, they are saying he's for sale then. If they say they aren't going to sell him to a PL team, then they are planning to sell him this window.

RM or Barca, then.

Doubt Barca can afford him and also doubt Real would go for him

Why nobody talking about Psg. Cavani, Icardi and possibly Neymar won't be there next year surely they need a top striker. They might give for Kane or maybe Aubameyang. Hopefully they come for Pogba

Happy with Rashford or Martial up front for now, we should focus on getting a top right mid in for the kind of big money Kane would cost. Probably a midfielder too.

Yeah the right side has been pretty much non existent since about 2012 which is completely unacceptable for a club of this stature, feels like it has been neglected in a similar way to the CM position in the final years of Fergie's reign

After reading that transfer Q&A with James Cooper tonight I get the impression that a Centre Back is more of a priority than a Midfielder if Pogba stays, seems to suggest that any business in that area this summer is very much dependent on him

I don’t think we need another midfielder unless Pogba goes. Bellingham if it happens will come regardless on if Pogba stays or goes. If Pogba leaves then Grealish will most likely be a prime target. I think a CB is needed especially since Jones and Smalling will likely be leaving. I think our signings will be Ighalo, Sancho, Bellingham and a CB. Got a feeling Pogba will stay.

Even if Pogba stays, i'd still class a midfielder as more important than a CB.

Maybe not Grealish, but a natural DM to replace Matic in a years time.

Outgoings should be:
Lingard
Sanchez
Smalling
Rojo
Jones
Pogba (unlikely but best for all concerned)

Incomings:
Ighalo
Bellingham
Sancho
Zakaria
Grealish (If Pogba leaves)

We'd have good options for CB:
Lindelof
Maguire
Tuanzebe
Bailly
Fosu Mensah (if needed/backup)

On paper, selling 3 CB's and signing none seems a bit odd, but 2 are already on loan and one's featured 8 times in the premier league with only 2 starts. We're just selling players who don't contribute anyway

If Pogba doesn't want to stay, I wouldn't mind us using his transfer fee to buy Grealish + Upamecano or Konate. Those two plus Sancho, Ighalo and Zakaria would be a fantastic window IMO with a net spend of almost 200 million minus other sales.

I know it's not going to happen but I would love us to sign Grealish and/or Upamecano if they are on the move regardless of the Pogba situation. There have been rumors that they both could be available for around 40 mill pounds and at that price, It would be a shame to miss out on two of the most talented youngish football players we can buy

I don’t trust any journalist on the topic, but it could make sense. We play with three at the back against good teams and could use Matic against «less good» sides. We also have quite a few midfielders. Matic, Fred, McTominay, Pogba and Bruno. Furthermore, I think we want to give Hanniball and Garner a chance soon. Maybe Garner will get a loan this summer, and be ready to step in for Matic in 2021.

Yeah that is a very possible window, part of me wonders if Bellingham could do a Sancho and go to Germany for a few years.
