Pretty sure that's the commission to the agent, not the fee to us. He walks on a free in June.6/7 million as it’s written in the tweet, if you bothered to look.

That's transfer commission for his agent, we might be owed compensation, two very different things.6/7 million as it’s written in the tweet, if you bothered to look.
Very helpful! But we don't get anything for a youth player going abroad on a free! Remember Spurs/Standard Liege/Zeki Fryers...6/7 million as it’s written in the tweet, if you bothered to look.
Dont really get what they've seen in Chong. Still a very raw player, but do we think he has a very high ceiling level?

Whats that per week? 70 - 100k?
He was really highly thought of in his mid-teens; got a bad knee injury about 2 years back, it's possibly affected him a lot. Gomes and Greenwood look far, far ahead of him technically.
He's still doing great in the U-23s apparently - maybe a change of scenery and a better league will do wonders for him?
Don’t think that matters as he’s signing abroad.Tribunal will dictate fee as he is under 24

What has Chong done to believe he deserves that kind of salary?
Good riddance if that's the case. He isn't even very good.
Better league? He looks lost in the premier league, so why would he want to go to a better 1?
So why aren't we shopping there then? And they are huge talents mate.
Oh and btw: Nobody said it's hard to get players in Jan? Have a word with yourself. We hear that every fecking January from our managers
The whole fact a player can negotiate with a club outside their current league 6 months before their contract ends also goes in favour of clubs who might look to adopt that strategy. Take a punt on a Pogba or a Sancho for a low fee and above average wages and hope to sell them back at a later date. The only viable strategy I see from European clubs buying young British talent (most often as they wind down their contracts or due for renewal) is to acquire them cheaply, albeit with somewhat lucrative contract offers, but then sell back to PL clubs at vastly exorbitant transfer fees, recovering their contractual layout and making a tidy profit as well. Jadon Sancho being a case in point. Do they have any real intention of keeping these players long term? Not likely given the riches on offer from the PL gravy train! It's a well thought out strategy and whilst the Raiola's of this world are operating I can see it gradually becoming common place.
What the hell is going on at Inter?

Ogden mentioning Tevez as a possible striking solution.
Made me laugh. Completely pulling names out of his arse.Shooting fish in a barrel thats all they do.

Reminds me of one of the best muppetry threads on the Caf ever..Ogden mentioning Tevez as a possible striking solution.

Wish it was a homage more than a sacrificial tribute. That's funny because we are a bit like a Man Utd tribute act at the moment too.
