eh i'll happily tell you that neres and van de beek aren't united quality, for example, and ziyech would best go for a club with a bit less pressure like Arsenal, but Onana has it in him to be one of the best goalies in the world
United quality? At the moment that bar is extremely low. Neres would walk into our side even though yeah I don’t think he’s top quality. Fair enough if you think Onana is all that, I haven’t seen anything in him to suggest that.
i agree 100%. Onana is as good as De Gea on the line. His distribution is better and he acts as a fifth defender. My only issue is that he does not command the box on corners and free kicks, but then de Gea has the same faults. The other issue I have is .. Is either better than Henderson?
cool. maybe you could actually try watching some Ajax games then. what have you seen that makes you think Neres would walk into United other than two or so fantastic champions league performances?
He can play on the right and that's all it takes to walk into our XI tbf.

really? My issue with Onana is that he actually overcommits in the air when he might be better leaving it to his defenders. One-on-one he's unbeatable though, reflexes are fantastic, speed coming out is best I've seen, and yeah good with his feet, though not fantastic (like an Ederson or something) with his long balls.
I haven't seen enough of Henderson to compare them but I know he's highly rated. I wonder though to what extent him being so highly rated isn't simply the classic overrating "what we've got" from fans, but again I'm definitely in no place to say that's at all the case here. Definitely no point spending a lot on Onana as a "back up with promise" if you have Henderson anyway.
yeah he's pretty lightweight and doesn't show nearly enough initiative on the ball for me. I'd need to see him turn it on in a Suarez-like season before I'd ever suggest him as a big purchase for a United-level club and I don't think he has that in him tbh

I do agree with the assessment of @Ajaxsuarez though. Onana is a brilliant keeper in the making. Wenger was even waxing lyrical about him after the first leg.

It is really frustrating trying to compare the Dutch League to the Premier league. Take Tadic. He was good at Southampton but not outstanding but at Ajax this season he has been brilliant. Sometimes it's not the player but the way he is used.
Lot's of interest in Donnie v.d. Beek. I fear he may have the same impact as Davey Klassen. Ziyech would frustrate MU fans. He can be brilliant but also so poor and egoistic.
He looks class. Calm and composed, commands his area, isn't afraid to come out and catch a cross to put the defence at ease. And his distribution and comfortableness with the ball at his feet are also great. He was immense during their Champions League run.
Shot stopping/reflexes is the only area he must improve in.
You are joking. Have you watched Ajax at all this season. He is probably the best reflex and shot stopping keeper alongside de Gea

No idea why Aulas has such a hard on for feckin PSG. All he's doing is adding to their monopoly and making the Ligue 1 less interesting in the process. It's stupid. Just sell him to whoever the player prefers and/or to the club that's willing to pay the most.

I feel some Ajax fans underrate Van de Beek because he's not been playing in his best role recently. The stat above showed he was a better no 6 than Frenkie in his first season. He passed more forward, had more touches and capable of switching play with his long passes and crosses which Frenkie is incapable of doing.
If it were Frenkie that was deployed in the no 10 role instead of Van de Beek, he wouldn't have been as good as Van de Beek. Van de Beek did his best as a no 10 despite the fact that he isn't one. More reason I feel he should leave Ajax if the coach will keep deploying him as a no 10.

yeah i said that to you before. he's nowhere near as good as frenkie de jong technically, athletically, or mentally.
Strange that Van de Beek was Ajax's best player against Spurs in the two legs despite not playing in his best position. His mental strength is far better than that of Frenkie as shown by his big game performances in the cup final, against Spurs and Juventus and in the match that won Ajax the title. Athletic wise, he's also better and more mobile than Frenkie who can't even play as a no 8, let alone as a no 10.
There's nothing wrong with VDB's technique. He won't give you the mazy dribbling runs of Frenkie but that's not needed in the midfield. He's capable of evading opposition with a smart dribble which is enough. Xavi, Scholes were never players who had to go on crazy mazy runs, which I feel is redundant in comparison to passing skills in the midfield. I feel some Ajax fans are just attracted to the mazy dribbling of Frenkie because left for me, his passing skill is nothing special. He finds it difficult to switch play to the wing whenever the middle is packed up and his spatial awareness is basically zero. What I see him do is make several passes backward until Schone and Ziyech drops deep to get the ball or the fullbacks bomb forward. At times he had to go on a mazy runs whenever the midfield is packed up because he couldn't switch play to the wing. That ain't my cup of tea.
I really don't know why the image I posted isn't showing but if you check squawka website and compare VDB 2016/2017 stat per mins when he was mostly deployed as a no 6 to Frenkie's no 6 role stat this season, Van de Beek's stat looked far better than Frenkie in the no of chances created, average pass length, long ball, crosses, forward passes, passes completed etc whereas Frenkie was regarded as a player who passed backward a lot. It's a shame that he had to be the fall guy for Frenkie to excel in the no 6 role because Frenkie can't play in any other role apart from the no 6 whereas Van de Beek is much more mobile and can play as no 8 hence why the coach planted him as a SS/no 10 today.
Sometimes, your adaptability and talent tend to be an hindrance as in the case of Nani who was constantly deployed on the left side to make room for Valencia on the right wing despite the fact that Nani looked far better on the right than on the left but since Valencia was one footed and couldn't play on the left whereas Nani could play on the left although not as good as he was on the right, he was moved to the left. Nani's best season in the year he had close to 17 assists was during the year Valencia was out injured and Nani was deployed on the right wing in his place. If Van de Beek really want to keep developing as the central midfield he is, he needs to leave Ajax.
